Felonious Assault Ends Peacefully

Posted

May 4, 2021 CLARE, MI. On May 3, 2021 troopers from the Mount Pleasant Post were dispatched to an address in Vernon Township of Isabella County for a Felonious Assault complaint. The victim reported the suspect threatened to shoot her with a bow and arrow and was also armed with a knife. Fortunately, the victim was able to leave the residence and call 911 before the suspect was able to act on his threats. Troopers were subsequently able to talk the suspect, a 39-year-old Clare man, out of the residence and take him into custody without incident.

Family members report the suspect was possibly having a mental health episode. The suspect was ultimately transported to Midland for a mental health evaluation by MMR (Mobile Medical Response).

This case will be forwarded to the Isabella County Prosecutor’s Office for review. Troopers were assisted on scene by the Clare City Police, Clare County Central Dispatch, and MMR
