After dropping their season opener earlier in the week, the Farwell girl’s basketball team was able to bounce back with a home win on Thursday. The Lady Eagles were taking on Pinconning in Jack Pine Conference play, and prevailed in a low-scoring game, 29-27.
“We started off really strong and then started to get lazy after halftime,” head coach Chloe Haring said. “We struggled at the three-point line but were able to pick it up defensively to win.”
Accurate stats were not available for the contest, but according to Haring, Janelle Fouts led the team in scoring.
The Eagles also lost their season opener at Manton on Monday, Dec. 2. They dropped the non-league game, 71-16.
Fouts also led the team in scoring in this contest.
Farwell (1-1 overall, 1-0 JPC) played at Meridian on Tuesday and they’ll make the trip to Clare on Friday. They’ll also host St. Louis on Tuesday and conclude the calendar year at Midland Calvary Baptist on Thursday, Dec. 19.
