The Farwell baseball team came up on the short end of their Division 3 district opener on May 27. They were taking on Reed City in Evart, where they fell to the talented Coyote squad with a score of 14-1.

“We had a rough day overall, but that game does not dictate the kind of season we had,” head coach Christian Jorgensen said. “I am still proud of all of our guys and what they were able to accomplish this season.”

The way the coach sees it, they had many positives to take away from the season.

“We had the second 10-plus win season in about a decade, we have not had this many conference wins in five plus years, we had our first team all-conference selection in a long time, we had an 8-0 non- conference record, and we brought back our JV program for the first time in like six or seven years.”

In some added good news, the Eagles expect to return the bulk of their line-up next spring as well; giving them a wealth of experience back to the roster.

“The ship is going in the right direction, and we keep getting better,” Jorgensen said. “We have 10 out of our 12 guys coming back next year and we have a couple promising freshmen that will be entering our program. I am excited for next year.”
