Evelyn L. Martin

Evelyn L. Martin, age 90, of Harrison passed away on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at the Gladwin Nursing and Rehabilitation Community under the care of Heartland Hospice.

In following Evelyn's wishes, cremation has taken place and her ashes will be interred at Pleasant Plains Cemetery with her husband.

Evelyn was born on April 7, 1934, in Croswell, MI, daughter of Ray William and Arlene (Beaumont) Nugent. She married Harold "Bud" Martin on July 10, 1976, in Ringold, GA. She was a member of the United Brethren Church in Harrison. She enjoyed visiting with family and friends, playing bingo, Yahtzee, euchre, and doing puzzles.

Evelyn is survived by her children, Roy (Marie) White of Burtchville, MI, Belinda "Sue" Hills of Port Huron, and Cheryl White of North Fort Myers, FL; five grandchildren, John White, Matthew White, Melissa White, Jennifer Lafferty, and David Lafferty; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Willard (Debbie) Nugent of Sandusky, MI; and many nieces and nephews.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Harold “Bud” Martin on April 3, 2017; parents; brothers, Billy Ray Nugent, Howard Nugent, Floyd Nugent, and Orman Nugent; and sisters, Lillian Nugent, Elma Fuller, Ella Sopha, Nina Flynn, and Jane Pinson.
