            Eleanor Celia Coburn age 95 of Harrison passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at New Hope Bay, Bay City, Michigan. Eleanor was born August 10, 1924 in Newaygo, Michigan the daughter of Hugh Arthur Crandall and Inez Faye (Wallace) Crandall. Eleanor graduated from Newaygo High School, Newaygo, Michigan in 1942. Eleanor was united in marriage to Mr. Lyle Adrian Coburn on July 3, 1943 at Fort Meade, Maryland.

            Mrs. Coburn had resided in Harrison since 1956, moving from Newaygo. Eleanor was a long-time member of United Brethren Church, Harrison. Eleanor worked many years as a receptionist at Dr. Nelson’s Dentist Office of Harrison. Mrs. Coburn enjoyed solving crossword puzzles, assembling jigsaw puzzles, collecting crystal, reading books, yardwork, floral gardening, fishing and hunting with her husband, baking Christmas treats, cooking family dinners, cheering for her beloved Detroit Tigers and traveling throughout the United States with her husband and family.

            Surviving Eleanor are her three loving children; Gary Coburn and wife Dorothy of Harrisville, Utah, Keeley Bushong and husband Gordon of Bay City, Michigan and Kim Wood and husband Brook of Harrison, eleven grandchildren; Derek Brusen, Jared Brusen and wife Emily, Steven Suggs and wife Nathlie, Scott Suggs and wife Sabina, Brooke Mathis, Garrett Wood and wife Mary, Trent Wood and Morgan Buckingham, Danielle Wood, Katie Bushong and David Bublitz, Ben Bushong and Bridgette Cazzola and Andrew Bushong, seven great-grandchildren; Elizabeth, Madeline, Edward, Katie, Karle, Nick and Peyton, one great-great grandson, Ryder, one sister, Ardis Shattuck of Twin Lakes, Michigan, plus many nieces, nephews and extended family members. Mrs. Coburn was preceded in death by her infant son, Kevin Gene Coburn, parents, Hugh and Inez Crandall, her husband of fifty-nine years, Mr. Lyle Adrian Coburn, one daughter, Deborah Brusen, son in-law, Jim Brusen, three sisters; Evelyn Millard, Luci Shattuck and Garnet Abbott and two brothers; Arthur “Buck” Crandall and Hugh Crandall.

            Funeral services celebrating Eleanor’s life will be held Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. from Stocking Funeral Home, 165 W. Oak St, Harrison with Pastor Wendy Kindel officiating. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, November 6, 2019 from 4:30 p.m. until time of service. Graveside services will take place on Thursday, November 7, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Newaygo Cemetery, Newaygo, Michigan.
