Dona Jane LaValle passed away peacefully with family by her side on September 28, 2024, at the age of 91. Earth has lost an incredible mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister-in-law, aunt, and friend. Her presence will be deeply missed by many. We are grateful for her unending love, and the positive impact she had on so many lives.

Dona was the cherished matriarch of a loving family. Her spirit will continue to shine brightly through her children, Diana (Lon) Konkus, Lloyd (Jan) LaValle, and Loren (Mary) LaValle, along with her six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her tremendous joy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Evan and Nora McPhee; her husband, Lloyd LaValle; her brother, Harold McPhee; and her sisters, Merna Crippen and Katherine Gaines.

Dona graduated from Dimondale High School in 1950, the same year she married the love of her life, with whom she shared 49 years of marriage. Alongside her career, Dona supported her husband in the operation of several businesses, including gas stations, auto repair shops, and tow truck services. She also established and ran D & L KIS Photo Shop. Later, she worked for Harrison Community Schools and retired in 1998 to travel.

Dona had a deep passion for spending time with her family and creating cherished memories. She found great joy in planning, organizing, and crafting unforgettable family gatherings. As her family’s biggest supporter, she was always there to cheer on her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren at sporting events, school plays, recitals, band concerts, and all of life’s special moments.

Dona’s legacy is one of love, devotion, and unwavering support for her family and friends. She lived a life full of creativity, kindness, and generosity, touching the hearts of all who knew her. Though she is no longer with us, her warmth and spirit will continue to inspire those who were blessed to be a part of her life. Her memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of her family and the countless others whose lives she enriched.
