DELBERT “DEL” GEORGE BREWER JR.

Delbert “Del” George Brewer Jr. 75 of Harrison passed away Friday, November 1, 2019 at Henry Ford Health System, Detroit, Michigan. Delbert was born October 11, 1944 in Bay City, Michigan the son of Delbert George Brewer and Blanche (Farver) Brewer. Mr. Brewer graduated from Grand Blanc High School, Grand Blanc, Michigan in 1963. Del was united in marriage to Ms. Joanne Marie Soldan on August 18, 1974 in Flint, Michigan.

                Mr. Brewer had resided in Harrison since August 2002, moving from Vassar. Del retired from Buick Motor Company of Flint after thirty-seven years of dedicated service. Del was a life member of the NRA and a long-time member and board member of the Harrison Sportsman Club. He enjoyed Hunting, Archery, Fishing with his grandchildren, making fishing lures, parachuting, and wood carving.  He also enjoyed reading about WWII and was considered a history buff.

                Surviving Mr. Brewer is his loving wife and best friend of forty-five years, Mrs. Joanne Marie Brewer of Harrison, two daughters; Jolie “Blondie” Coleman and husband Matt of Davison, Michigan and Heather Good and husband Steve of Gladwin, Michigan, two sons; Robert Brewer and wife Annette of Oklahoma and Steve Brewer and Maria of Alaska, fourteen grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, two sisters; Sally Papp and husband Gary of Novi, Michigan and Carol Cummings and husband Rod of Gregory, Michigan, his beloved aunt, Lois Eakin of Flint, one sister in law, Betty Brewer of Swartz Creek, Michigan, two brothers in law, Ormal Soldan and wife Judy of Millington, Michigan and David Soldan of Davison, plus many nieces and nephews. Mr. Brewer was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Richard Brewer.

                Memorial services honoring Mr. Brewer will be held November 16^th 2019 at 1:00 pm at the Brown Corners Church, 5540 South Clare Avenue, Clare, Michigan 48617 with Pastor Dave Luther officiating. Memorial gifts in memory of Del may be considered to the Brewer family, in care of: Mrs. Joanne M. Brewer.
