David Joe Herron

David Joe Herron, 85 of Harrison, MI, went home to be with the Lord, and his loved ones on November 12, 2024, in Harrison, MI.

David "Joe" was born in Sigma, VA, on October 7, 1939.

David "Joe" was a loving and caring husband, father, grandpa, great-grandpa, uncle, and brother to so many. Most of all he was the best man you could have ever known. Always the first to offer help, give anything he had, or go buy what you need, so someone else didn't go without. He loved unconditionally, everyone was family to Dave.

He loved fishing, hunting, gardening, playing cards, and telling stories. He loved spending time with his family and friends.

Most knew him as dad or gramps. Both titles he loved, it didn't matter if you were blood or not, he truly loved all the people who came into his life. It's hard to say how many he leaves behind, because to so many he was dad and gramps.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Abraham and Ethel (Lawson) Herron; his in-laws, James and Clara Donia; brothers, Lonnie, Ellis, Troy, Lucian, and Larry Herron; his sisters, Retha Fleenor, Lorine Herron, Dorothy McMurray, Arnette Garrett, Pat McAlister, and Lucy Bernice Gibson; his granddaughter, Christina Herron; and grandson, Adam Herron.

David leaves behind his wife, Donna Herron; sons, David Joe Herron Jr. (Samantha) Darwin Herron, Elvis Herron, and Eric Herron; 20 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; brother, Abraham (Cathy) Herron of VA; and many nieces, nephews, and special friends.

A Memorial Gathering will take place at Clark-Stocking Funeral Chapel on Saturday, November 23, 2024, family will receive friends from 12:00 - 2 p.m.. The Celebration of Life will be from 2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
