Dale Alan Brandon, age 90 of Clare, passed away Thursday, August 8, 2019 at Prestige Place in Clare.  Dale was born the son of the late Clyde A. and Florence E. (Palmer) Brandon on May 14, 1929 in Newark, Ohio.  He was united in marriage to Jeanette “Jan” Marie Woodman on October 1, 1977.  Dale had served his Country proudly during WWII in the U.S. Navy.  He had worked for the Clare County Road Commission for 38 years, ending his tenure as the Superintendent.  He was also instrumental in working with the City of Clare to expand the portion of McEwan Street from Wilcox Parkway to the expressway to five lanes, including the sidewalk and street lights.  Following his retirement Dale worked as a courier for Chemical Bank.  The things that mattered most to Dale in this world were his faith in his Lord and Savior, his family and his music.  Dale was a song writer and musician; having played with Ernest Tubbs at the Clare County Fair.  Dale was born into a tight knit family and he continued that tradition raising a family of his own.

     Dale is survived by his loving wife, Jan; children Cindy L. (Ernie) Wilson, Jeff L. (Sheri) Brown and Robby L. (Deanna) Brown; siblings Keith E. (Ethel) Brandon, Dean A. Brandon, Dan I. (Donna) Brandon and Bonnie J. (Rodney) Reed; 10 grandchildren Andy, Jared, Joseph, Nicholas, Amanda, Amber, Lacey, Kendra, Casey and Jordy as well as many great grandchildren.  He was predeceased by his children Molly Lynn Brandon, Michael A. Brandon and John C. Brandon.

     Visitation will be held at the Clare Chapel of Stephenson-Wyman Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 13, 2019 from 2 to 8 P.M.  Services will be held on Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at the Clare United Methodist Church with Pastor John Kasper officiating.  Visitation will be from noon until the time of service at 1 P.M.  Burial with Military Honors will follow in the Cherry Grove Cemetery in Clare.  Memorials may be directed toward the Brandon Family.  On-line condolences may be left at www.stephenson-wyman.com
