CLINTON WILLIAM GOODENOW

        Clinton William Goodenow 58 of Harrison passed away suddenly on Sunday, December 15, 2019 at McLaren Central Michigan Hospital, Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. Clinton was born July 7, 1961 in Clare, Michigan the son of Charles William Goodenow and Waiva Irene (DeBarr) Goodenow. Clinton graduated from Clare Public Schools in 1980, and furthered his studies at Mid Michigan Community College, Harrison with a degree in Welding, graduating in 1983. Clinton was a life-long resident of Clare County.

        On October 31, 2011, Mr. Goodenow was united in marriage to Jennifer L. Whittey. Clinton worked as a farmer and horse trainer at many farms around Clare County. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, welding, bowling, playing billiards, family basketball games with his brothers, where the competition was fierce. Clinton also collected 8 track tapes and vinyl records, mainly country and western and country gospel. His greatest passion was farming, breaking and riding horses and spending time with his family.

        Surviving Mr. Goodenow is his wife of eight years, Mrs. Jennifer L. Whittey-Goodenow of Harrison, his mother, Waiva I. DeBarr of Clare, two daughters; Maria Bowers and husband Robert of Bono, Arkansas and Ruth Decker and husband Ron Decker Sr. of Harrison, two sons; William Goodenow of Harrison and Clinton Goodenow of Prospect, Virginia, one step-daughter, Autumn Hilliard of Harrison and one step-son, Richard Grossman of Sutherlin, Oregon, thirteen grandchildren, three brothers; Charles W. Goodenow and wife Denise of Harrison, Calvin W. Goodenow and wife Angie of Reed City, Michigan and Kevin M. Goodenow and wife Missy of Harrison, many nieces, nephews, extended family members, his beloved dogs; Sage, Ky Rose and Red and his two horses; Little Man and General. Mr. Goodenow was preceded in death by his father, one son, Timothy Goodenow and one step-daughter, Lyndsy Grossman.

        Memorial services celebrating Clinton will be held Saturday, December 21, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. from Stocking Funeral Home, Harrison. A time of gathering will take place on Saturday, December 21, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. until time of service. Inurnment will be in Hatton Township Cemetery, Clare.
