Clare’s Bryce Wieferich finishes sixth at D3 finals

Competing against the best Division 3 had to offer, Clare sophomore Bryce Wieferich proved he belonged and then some. Competing at the D3 championship meet at the Meadows Golf Course at Grand Valley State University on Friday and Saturday, he shot a two-day total of 153 to tie him for sixth place overall.

On Friday he shot a 75, while on Saturday he carded a 78.

“Bryce did a very good job at managing the course on both days,” head coach Chris Fedewa said. “His shot placement was exceptional.  Bryce had an outstanding tournament, and I look forward to what he's going to be in the future.”

Also of note, Shepherd golfer Christopher Crockett was the individual state champion; thanks to his two-day total of 145.
