Christine Carol Colgan 73 of rural Gladwin passed away at her home surrounded by family on Thursday, March 25, 2021. Christine was born December 3, 1947 in West Branch, Michigan the daughter of Joel Peter Chrivia and Gladys (Metzelburg) Chrivia. Christine was united in marriage to Mr. Ford Percy Colgan in 1963 in Smith Creek, Michigan. Mr. Colgan preceded Christine in death on February 28, 2019.

                Mrs. Colgan had resided in rural Gladwin since 2012, moving from Beaverton, Michigan. Christine was an owner and operator of a foster care home for over fifteen years. She enjoyed watching televised 700 club church services, cooking, baking, gardening, watching her pet birds, deer, fish, and guinea hens. Christine’s greatest time spent was with her children and grandchildren throughout the years.

                Surviving Mrs. Colgan are her three children: Shawn Colgan and wife Terry of Beaverton, Shelley Halifax and husband David also of Beaverton and Robin Colgan of Gladwin, four grandchildren: Nicholas Colgan, Rachel Colgan, Nicholas Hoger and Isabella Thornton, two great-grandchildren: Mason Colgan and Stella Brown, two adopted daughters: Carol Simmons and husband Mark of Smith Creek, and Denise Martin of Alpena, one brother, Douglas Chrivia of Dryden, Michigan, brother in-law, Martin Ryan of Emmett, Michigan, many nieces, nephews, extended family members and best friends, Sam and Carol Starks of Yale, Michigan. Christine also was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Karen Ryan and two brothers: Robert Chrivia and Jerry Chrivia.
