Ceremonies Honor Nation’s Fallen Soldiers, MIAs

Members of the American Legion Honor Guard from Legion Post 404, Harrison, gathered Monday to remember and honor those members of the community who had given their lives in service to their nation. Having made the decision the previous evening, because they thought it was important to hold the service, the Honor Guard members employed proper social distancing and use of patriotic masks to facilitate a safe and respectful service at Veterans Freedom Park. Speakers included Norm Schollett and Dale Tritten. After the park ceremony, the group reassembled at Maple Grove Cemetery for another ceremony by the War Memorial monument, a monument engraved with the words “Sacred to the memory of our nation’s defenders.” Honor Guard participants included Norm Schollett, Ron Treziak, Dale Tritten, Joe Bradley and Leslie Walters. Also pictured at the cemetery is Larry Hunt from VFW Post 1075 (far left). In attendance, but not pictured, were Judy Tritten Rod Curtiss and Jacki Bradley.
