Case Arrested on Methamphetamine Charges

On 09/03/20 at approximately 12:15 p.m. Clare County Central Dispatch received a from a property owner requesting a check of his property.  The caller advised that the tenants at the property may be using illegal drugs at the home.  Clare County Sheriff Deputies responded to the scene.  Upon arrival they witnessed a male sleeping at the kitchen table and what appeared to be a pipe used for smoking methamphetamine sitting on a pizza box on the table.  Another male inside the residence took off moving toward the back of the house.  The sleeping male then awoke and threw the pipe inside of the pizza box.  Also present in the home was another female and a 2-year-old child.  The male that attempted to hide the pipe was told to step out of the residence.  That male was found to be in possession a large amount of white powder believed to be methamphetamine.   The male was placed under arrest. 

The male was identified as James Carl Case III, a 39-year-old male from Harrison.  On 9/3/20 James Case was arraigned by 80th District Court Magistrate on the charges of controlled substance deliver manufacturing of methamphetamine and controlled substance possession of methamphetamine / ecstasy 2nd or subsequent offense.  James Case had a bond set at $400,000.00 cash or surety.  James Case was also arraigned in the 55th Circuit Court for a warrant that he had at the time of arrest concerning probation violations.  His bond was set at $500.00 cash in his name in that matter. 

James Carl Case remains lodged at the Clare County Jail at this time.
