CARL JAY-EDWARD McCARRICK

Carl Jay-Edward McCarrick 48 of Harrison passed away suddenly on Monday, July 15, 2019 at Munson Healthcare-Cadillac Hospital, Cadillac. Carl was born August 18, 1970 in Lansing, Michigan, the son of Edward Jay McCarrick Sr. and Darlene June (Jenkins) McCarrick. Carl graduated in 1989 from Harrison High School. Carl had resided in Harrison since 1975, moving from Clare and previously from Lansing.

                Carl J. was united in marriage to the former Kelly Jo Garver on August 6, 2005 at Leota Community Church, Leota, Michigan. Carl was a Master Mechanic in diesel repair. He was currently employed with T &S Truck Service of Cadillac. Carl enjoyed building hot rods, working on diesel equipment, tinkering in his garage, fishing, yearly Salmon fishing trips with his boss, family canoe trips down the Muskegon River and watching televised NASCAR races, cheering for his beloved Dale Earnhardt Jr. Carl’s favorite time spent was spoiling his grandchildren and family gatherings.

                Surviving Carl J. is his loving wife of thirteen years, Mrs. Kelly Jo McCarrick of Harrison, three daughters; Rebecca McCarrick of Harrison, Kayla (Jeremy) McCarrick of Cheboygan and Megan (Surf) McCarrick also of Harrison, one son, Kurtis Flinn and wife Kristina of Saline, Michigan, seven grandchildren, his mother, Darlene J. McCarrick of Harrison, four sisters, Lorraine Noel and husband James of Prudenville, Michigan,  Wanda Stanley of Clare, Goldie Preece and husband Randy of Ohio and Chris Causley of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, five brothers; Edward J. McCarrick Jr. and Beatrice of Flint, Michigan, Frank M. McCarrick of Tennessee, LaVern C. McCarrick and Von of Owosso, Michigan, Richard L. McCarrick of Flint and Melvin Causley of Traverse City, Michigan, many loving nieces and nephews and Carl’s beloved dog, Gooch. Carl J. was preceded in death by his father, Edward Jay McCarrick Sr.

                Memorial services honoring Carl will be held Saturday, July 20, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. from Leota Community Church, 1946 Muskegon Road, Harrison, with Pastor Jerry Britton officiating. A time of gathering for Carl will take place on Saturday, July 20, 2019 from 11:30 a.m. until time of service at Leota Community Church.
