BERT McGUIRE TAYLOR JR.

Bert McGuire Taylor Jr., 83 of Harrison passed away Saturday, December 21, 2019 at his home. Bert was born September 9, 1936 in Sylvania, Ohio, the son of Bert McGuire Taylor Sr. and Vida (Clark) Taylor. On May 7, 1955 in Adrian, Michigan, Mr. Taylor was united in marriage to Ms. Darlene Joyce Shafer. Darlene preceded Bert in death on June 16, 2010 after fifty-five years of marriage.

Mr. Taylor had resided in Harrison since the early 1980’s, moving from Hillsdale, Michigan. Bert retired from Simpson Industries of Gladwin after many years of employment. Bert enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, camping trips with his family, sitting on his front porch in his favorite chair, making his famous homemade lemon and pecan pies. Bert loved cheese, tomato sandwiches and his daily eggs, toast and bacon for breakfast.

Surviving Bert his seven children; Dianna Brown of Harrison, Roxanna Tello of Crystal, Michigan, Rhonda Kornexl and husband Jerry of Harrison, Connie Pardee and Lewis Richards of Pittsford, Michigan, Laurie Hopkins and husband Greg of Harrison, Michael Taylor and wife Pamela of Oconto, Wisconsin and John Taylor of Harrison, fourteen grandchildren, twenty-seven great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, one sister, Judy Maynard and husband Roger of Tecumseh, Michigan, three brothers; Albert Taylor of Ohio, Charles Taylor of Florida and Henry James and wife Lois of Grant, Michigan, plus many nieces, nephews and extended family members. Mr. Taylor also was preceded in death by his parents, one great-grandson, Joshua, two son in-laws; Joseph Brown and Josh Tello and four sisters; Bertha, Arlene, Mayola and Marge.

Funeral services honoring Mr. Taylor will take place Saturday, December 28, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. from Stocking Funeral Home, 165 W. Oak St., Harrison, with Mr. James Tello officiating. Visitation will be held Saturday, December 28, 2019 from 12:00 p.m. until service time. Memorial gifts in memory of Mr. Taylor may be considered to the Taylor Family, in care of: Connie Pardee.
