BENNIE “BIG POPPA” TERRY-LINN JAMES JR.

                Bennie “Big Poppa” Terry-Linn James Jr., 41 of Harrison passed away suddenly on Saturday, August 14, 2021. Bennie was born October 19, 1979 in Flint, Michigan the son of Bennie Terry-Lynn James Sr. and Dorothy (Vinson) James. Bennie was a graduate of Clare Pioneer High School in 2006, Clare, Michigan. Bennie had resided in Harrison since 2004, moving from Albright Shores, Michigan.

                Big Poppa enjoyed being involved in Boy Scouts at a young age, singing, Karaoke, fishing, camping, watching movies, cooking, baking his famous Banana Bread, and was proud of his southern heritage. Bennie helped raise his best friends four children as if they were his own. Big Poppa will fondly be remembered by his “Big Poppa Bear Hugs”.

                Surviving Bennie are his four children; Braden Jesse James of Harrison, Keira Ann-Marie James of Harrison, McKenzie Nevaeh-Rayne Cullen also of Harrison and Allison Rae-Lynn Cullen of Harrison, his father, Bennie Terry-Linn James Sr. and wife Mary James of Mount Morris, Michigan, six brothers; Johnny Harpster of Farwell, Michigan, Joseph Damon of Mio, Michigan and Bob Mason of Skidway Lake, Michigan, Chris Stevens of Gladwin, Michigan, Tim Lee of Spokane, Washington and Jason Lee of Gladwin, Michigan three sons that Bennie stepped up and raised: Johnny Pease Jr., Michael Pease and JorDon Peirce, three brother in-laws; Frank Thrush of Arkansas, Gary Lash of Beaverton, Michigan and Larry Livingston of Harrison, Michigan,  four nieces; Zoey Thrush, Morgan Lash, Leah Lash and Brooklyn Lash, three nephews; Frankie Thrush, Tyler Lash and Elijah VanSickle, the mother of Bennie’s children; Crystal Lash of Harrison, his lady friend; Tonya Richardson of Gladwin, Michigan, plus many extended family members and friends. Mr. James was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy James and sister, Melinda Thrush.

                Life Celebration services for Big Poppa will be held Friday, August 27, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. from Stocking Funeral Home, Harrison with Mr. Johnny Pease Jr. officiating. A time of gathering will take place on Friday, August 27, 2021 from 12:00 p.m. until time of service. Memorial gifts in memory of Big Poppa may be considered to his family, in care of: Crystal Lash.
