Belding Man Sentenced for CSC

Jeremy Phillip Barker, of Belding, Michigan, plead no contest on January 29, 2020, to Criminal Sexual Conduct in the 1st degree against a minor child under his authority or control. The conviction was the culmination of an investigation conducted by the Michigan State Police. On June 22, 2020, the Defendant was sentenced to prison by Judge Mienk. Chief Assistant Prosecutor Eilisia Schwarz handled the case for the Prosecutor’s Office and did a wonderful job relaying the victim’s statements regarding the sentence. Judge Mienk ordered that the Defendant serve 8 years to 30 years with credit for 197 days already served. The Defendant was also ordered to pay $1758.00.
