Allen D. Oakley, age 70, of Harrison, MI, passed away Wednesday, December 8, 2021, at his home.  He passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family.  

Allen was born December 2, 1951, to Lawrence and Regina (Carpenter) Oakley in Flint, MI.  He was very proud to have completed his GED in 1992.  He worked as a surveyor, a skill which he taught himself.   He was passionate about his music, and loved to play the blues on his custom guitar.  He enjoyed playing Open Mic Night, and Stevie Ray Vaughan.  He enjoyed working around the yard, was a War History buff, enjoyed watching old TV shows, and westerns.  He adored his grandchildren, and was a good grandpa.  

Allen is survived by his children:  Rian (Nichole) Oakley of Caldwell, KS, Thomas (Autumn Haag) Oakley of Harrison, MI, Joseph Oakley of Harrison, MI; Travis (Emily) Oakley of Harrison, MI; Jerald (Kelly Muir) of Ferndale, MI; Megan (Samuel) Sheldon of Harrison, MI; Marshall (Vanessa) Oakley of Petoskey, MI; and Spring (Clint) Mulder of Dafter, MI.  He is also survived by the mother of his children and his caregiver; Amy Oakley of Harrison, MI.  

Allen leaves behind 19 grandchildren, all of whom he loved dearly.  He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.  

Allen is survived by his siblings:  Charles Oakley of Tucson, AZ, Lona (Jack) Gray of Davidson, MI; Gary Oakley of Ithaca, MI; and Donald Oakley of Marshall, MI.  Allen also leaves behind his beloved 14-year-old Jack Russell Terrier, “Boy Dog”.

Allen was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, William; and his Jack Russell rescue pup, Sally.
