HARRISON – August William Stayler, of Harrison, Michigan, pleaded no contest on May 21, 2024, to five counts of Delivery/Manufacture of Methamphetamine, two counts of Delivery/Manufacture (cocaine, heroin, or another narcotic) less than 50 grams, and Maintaining a Drug House. The convictions were the result of an investigation conducted by MINT from June to August 2022 into this defendant. On Aug. 27, 2024, the defendant was sentenced to serve two years to 20 years in prison, all sentences for each conviction to run concurrent with one another. He received credit for three days previously served. He was also ordered to pay a total of $1,674 in assorted fines and costs.
Vernon Perry Wilson, of Harrison, Michigan, pleaded guilty on June 10, 2024, to three counts of Aggravated Child Sexually Abusive Activity and three counts of Using a Computer to Commit a Crime with maximum penalty of 20 years or more to life. The convictions were the result of an investigation conducted by the Michigan State Police Computer Crimes Unit. They received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) that a Verizon cell phone user was using the cloud storage system to store child sexually abusive material. That cell phone was determined to be the defendant’s phone. On Aug. 26, 2024, he was sentenced to serve 3 years to 25 years on each count of Aggravated Child Sexually Abusive Activity and 3 years to 20 years on each count of Using a Computer to Commit a Crime. All sentences to run concurrently. He received credit for the five days he had previously served. He was also ordered to pay a total of $2,586.77 in assorted fines and costs.
Ty Dorian Waller, of Harrison, Michigan, pleaded no contest on July 12, 2024, to eight counts of Home Invasion 2nd Degree, and as a habitual 4th offender. The convictions were the result of several investigations by the Clare County Sheriff’s Department of several home invasions on S. Finley Lake Avenue, Highland Avenue, and Water Streets in Harrison. On Aug. 19, 2024, he was sentenced to serve 3.33 years (40 months) to 30 years on each count of Home Invasion 2nd Degree, all sentences to run concurrently. He received credit for 188 days previously served. He was also ordered to pay a total of $4,103 in assorted fines, costs, and restitution.
William August Ketner, of Harrison, was found guilty July 18, 2024, after a jury trial of Delivery/Manufacture Methamphetamine, 2nd or subsequent offense; Delivery/Manufacture (cocaine, heroin, or other narcotic) under 50 grams, 2nd or subsequent offense; and Maintaining a Drug House. He was sentenced to serve 6 years to 40 years in prison for Delivery of Methamphetamine; 1 year to 40 years in prison for Delivery/Manufacture (cocaine, heroin, or other narcotic) under 50 grams; and no further incarceration for Maintaining a Drug House. All sentences are to run concurrent with one another. He was given credit for 37 days previously served. He was also ordered to pay a total of $564 in assorted fines and costs.
