3 Offenders Sentenced to Prison

HARRISON –Kristina Mae Zimmerman of Weidman pleaded guilty Jan. 28, 2021, to Retail Fraud in the 1st Degree as a habitual 4th offender. The conviction was a result of an investigation conducted by Clare Police Department in August 2020. This defendant and her co-defendant, Lisa Elliot, were caught on camera stealing multiple bottles of alcohol from Witbeck’s.

On March 1, she was sentenced by Judge Roy Mienk to serve 12 months and 14 days to 15 years in prison, with credit for 138 days already served. She was ordered to pay $1,926.98 in fines, costs, court appointed attorney fees and restitution. (The case against Lisa Elliot is currently scheduled for a jury trial, and she is considered innocent until proven guilty.)

Kathy Lee Corbin of Harrison pleaded guilty Nov. 6, 2020, to Possession of Methamphetamine as a habitual 2nd offender. The conviction stemmed from a traffic stop conducted by Clare County Sheriff deputies in May 2018, which progressed into a search warrant for a residence where the defendant was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and in violation of her probation terms.

On March 1, she was sentenced by Judge Thomas Evans on this file and a probation file, to serve 19 months to 15 years with credit for 41 days served. She was ordered to pay $1,998 in fines, costs and court appointed attorney fees.

Terry Wade Miracle of Harrison pleaded guilty Feb. 8, 2021, to Possession of Methamphetamine and Fleeing and Eluding a Police Officer as a habitual 3rd offender. A Clare County Sheriff’s deputy attempted to conduct a traffic stop for speeding when the defendant refused to immediately pull over. After a short chase, the defendant was apprehended and was found to have methamphetamine on him.

On March 22, he was sentenced by Judge Mienk to serve 18 months to 20 years and 13 months to 4 years respectively, with credit for 246 days already served. The sentences are to run concurrent with one another. He also was ordered to pay $1,986 in fines, costs and court appointed attorney fees.
