EDWARD JOHN NIEZGUSKI
Edward J. Niezguski, 76, of
Harrison passed away on Tuesday, August 30, 2006 at Mid Michigan
Regional Medical Center in Clare. He was born on April 25, 1930 in
Wakefield, Michigan, the son of Ignatz and Wadislavia (Marcheck)
Niezguski. Edward served in the United States Army during the Korean
Conflict.
Mr. Niezguski married Lois A. Velchek on November 12, 1955 in Reed
City, Michigan. Edward had resided in Harrison since 1993, coming from
Utica, Michigan. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #2235
of Harrison. Edward loved to hunt and fish.
Surviving are his loving wife, Lois, one son; Kevin and Julie of
Harrison, one daughter; Debbie Opdyke of Norman, Oklahoma, one brother;
Henry (Dolly) Niezguski of Royal Oak, Michigan, two sisters; Sophie
Thomas of Harrison and Marie Kennedy of Shelby Township, Michigan, three
grandchildren; Natalie and Lindsay Opdyke and Beau. Edward was preceded
in death by his parents, brother; Walter Niezguski, and two sisters;
Dorothy Revitzer and Frances Kowales.
In keeping with Mr. Niezguski’s wishes cremation has taken place. A
memorial gathering was held on Sunday, September 3, 2006. If you wish to

FLOYD C. MCGINTY

Floyd C. McGinty, Gladwin, Michigan,
passed away Saturday, September 16, 2006 at Mid Michigan Medical Center,
Midland. Age 72 years.
The son of the late Joseph and Anna (Morbitzer) McGinty was born
November 17, 1933 in Saginaw County, Michigan. He married Rosemary
LaDuke, August 8, 1953. She survives him. He served with the U.S. Navy
Sea Bees. Floyd was employed by Michigan Bell Telephone retiring in 1979
with twenty-five years of service. He was a member of the Merrill
Masonic Lodge #411 F. & A.M. and the Harrison Lodge # 436 F. & A.M. He
had a great interest in Motocross racing, owning and operating the White
Birch Cycle Park in Stanton, Michigan. Floyd enjoyed fishing, hunting,
and golf, and traveled extensively, both by yacht and motor home. He
also was a participant in his longtime card club in Harrison.
His son, Kevin McGinty, passed away in 1978. Surviving besides his
wife are a sister, Betty McGinty, Birch Run; a special aunt, Margarette
Ladd, Saginaw; his nieces and nephews and their spouses, Michael McGinty,
Birch Run; Sharon and David Fleming; Pat and Frank Fleming, all of
Midland; Linda and Maynard Davis, Merrill; Vicki Lundstrom; Robert and
Jacque LaDuke, all of Freeland; Ron and Sue LaDuke, Zeeland; Beverly and
Bill Mangham, Denver, CO.; Kim and Carolyn LaDuke, New York; several
great nieces and great nephews; a sister-in-law, Iris LaDuke, Merrill.
A Masonic memorial service will take place at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday,
September 20, 2006, at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel in Merrill
with the Harrison Masonic Lodge #436 F. & A.M. officiating followed by
the funeral service with Mrs. Jo Jones officiating. Cremation will
follow. Friends were able to call at the Chapel in Merrill from
2:00-9:00 p.m. Tuesday. Those planning an expression of sympathy may

AGNES BELL DAVIS
Agnes Bell Davis 96 of Harrison
passed away Wednesday, August 16, 2006 at Gladwin Pines Nursing Home,
Gladwin. Agnes was born March 17, 1910 in West Branch, Michigan, the
daughter of William and Bertha (Smith) Kimbell. Agnes was united in
marriage to Judson Davis on October 30, 1945 in West Branch. Mr. Davis
preceded Agnes in death on March 8, 1979. Mrs. Davis had resided in
Harrison since 1969, coming from Flint, Michigan.
Surviving are her two loving daughters; Yvonne Eno and husband
Ronald of East Tawas, Michigan and Gail Mathis and husband Ted of
Harrison, one sister; Bertha Sydenham of Flint, Michigan, four
grandchildren; Trent, Kirk, Ryane and Christopher, seven
great-grandchildren, plus several nieces and nephews. Agnes also was
preceded in death by her parents, two brothers; Roy and Otis Kimbell,
and two sisters; Celia Walters and Crystal Sandford.
Interment services were held Friday, August 18, 2006 at 11:00 a.m.
at Maple Grove Cemetery, Harrison, with Elder Dale Beavers officiating.

MABLE ROBERTA SIMONS

Mable Roberta Simons, of Harrison,
was born on April 19, 1922, in a logging camp in Pennsylvania’s national
forest to John William and Pearl Alice Matie.
She passed away peacefully at the Sparrow Hospice House in Lansing
with her daughters at her side on September 17, 2006.
She was drafted during the war to work at a defense plant, Bell
Aircraft, where she met Douglas J. Simons, from Dansville, Michigan.
They married and raised four daughters in Lansing.
Mable was a retiree of Michigan Schools, member of the Moose,
Eagles, and American Legion.
Her greatest philosophy was to always look on the sunny side of
life.
She was preceeded in death by her husband, Douglas Simons; her
second husband, Joe Handy (Harrison); her parents; all six of her
brothers and all five of her sisters; and her son-in-law, Vergil Myers.
She is survived by four daughters - Evelyn Myers of Lansing, Pam
(Bill) Bauer of Eaton Rapids, Diane Colombini, of Harrison; and Alice
Mummy, of Bear Lake; seven grandchildren - Doug (Barb)Ouderkirk, Jeremy
Ouderkirk, Ryan (Wayne) Lakanen, Joshua Colombini, Christian Colombini,
Alicia Mummy and Madeline Mummy; and also four great grandchildren -
Amie, Brandon and Justin Ouderkirk, and Autumn Sevolt.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 7, at 2PM at the
Eaton Rapids Conservation Club (corner of 15-point and Freeman Rds) with
a luncheon following.
A second memorial service will take place at the Eagles on Townline
Road in Harrison, after interment at Pleasant Plains on Saturday,
October 14 at 5:30PM.
Donations can be made to Hospice House, St. Lawrence Campus, in
memory of Mable Simons.
