GARY RICHARD WILLER
JUNE 13, 1954 - SEPTEMBER 27, 2009
Gary Richard Willer,
55, of Harrison, passed away Sunday, September 27, 2009 at University of
Michigan Health System, Ann Arbor, Michigan. Mr. Willer was born June
13, 1954 in Flint, Michigan, the son of David E. and Marjorie M.
(Swartz) Willer. Gary was united in marriage to the former Melissa M.
Anderson on April 30, 1983 in Fenton, Michigan. Mr. Willer had resided
in Harrison since 1996, coming from Linden, Michigan.
Gary owned and operated Willer Custom Jewelry in Harrison since
2002. The original store was opened in Fenton in 1990. Gary was an avid
fisherman, and hunter, he also enjoyed golfing, coin collecting and
restoring and repairing automobiles. His greatest love was his family
and his dog’s.
Surviving is his loving wife of twenty-six years, Melissa M. Willer of
Harrison, his mother, Marjorie M. Willer also of Harrison, one daughter,
Amanda M. Willer of Plantation, Florida, one son, Scott R. Willer of
Harrison, one sister, Anne Willer of North Carolina, father and
mother-in-law, Edward and Barbara Anderson of Fenton, one
brother-in-law, Dan Anderson and wife Cindy of Howell, Michigan, three
sisters-in-law: Janice Solomon and husband Lee of Coral Springs,
Florida, Linda Kiel and husband Carl of Byron Center, Michigan and Mary
Gilmour and husband Joe of Grand Blanc, Michigan, eight nieces and
nephews and many friends and customers. Gary was preceded in death by
his father, David E. Willer on October 12, 2006.
A Celebration of Life memorial service for Gary will be held
Friday, October 2, 2009 at 12:00 p.m. from Stocking Funeral Home,
Harrison with Pastor Marion Hall officiating. A memorial gathering will
take place Thursday, October 1, 2009 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. from Stocking
Funeral Home, Harrison. Memorial contributions in memory of Mr. Willer

DOLLIE LOUISE MAYBERRY
JANUARY 29, 1931 - SEPT. 24, 2009
Dollie Louise
Mayberry, 78, of Harrison, passed away Thursday, September 24, 2009
at her home. Dollie was born January 29, 1931 in Bristow County,
Indiana, the daughter of Riley and Rosa (Aders) VanHoosier. Dollie was
united in marriage to Mr. Edsel V. Mayberry on September 12, 1950 in
Detroit, Michigan.
Mrs. Mayberry had resided in Harrison since 1987, coming from
Rochester, Michigan. Dollie enjoyed housework, cooking, visiting with
her family and friends and caring for her grandchildren.
Surviving is her loving husband, Edsel V. Mayberry of
Harrison, two daughters: Valerie Brinker and husband Donald of Atlas
Township, Michigan and Virginia Sutherland of Oakland, Michigan, two
sons: Keith Mayberry and wife Joanna of Waterford, Michigan and Lawrence
Mayberry of Rochester, Michigan, one brother, Johnny VanHoosier and wife
Leona of Bristow, Indiana, one sister, Fronie VanWinkle and husband
Leroy also of Bristow, one brother in law, Harvey Huff of Westland,
Michigan, nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, plus numerous
nieces and nephews. Mrs. Mayberry was preceded in death by her parents,
five brothers: Claude, Floyd, Joseph, Charles and Everett VanHoosier,
three sisters: Maude VanWinkle, Lucille Huff and Ella Sturgeon and one
great-grandson, Jared.
Funeral services for Mrs. Mayberry were held Monday, September 28,
2009 at 11:00 a.m. from Stocking Funeral Home, Harrison with Pastor Tim
Tanner officiating. Burial was in Maple Grove Cemetery, Harrison.

GEORGE ERVING GIVEN
George Erving Given,
76, of Traverse City, passed away September 23, 2009 at Munson Medical
Center after a brave struggle with an incurable cancer.
George was born February 13, 1933 at Harper Hospital in Detroit,
Michigan to Margaret Louise (Gillette) and Harold Kepple Given. George
served in the US Army as a medic from May 1951 to May 1953. He worked as
a painter and decorator for many years. George retired from Munson
Medical Center, where he worked as an LPN.
He married Margaret (Smith) Given on April 28, 1962. They were married
for 21 years and had four children: Therese (William) Andress, Mark (Josette)
Given, Frances (Kevin) Matthews, and William (Kylee) Given. George had
four grandsons: Corey and Jarod Given, John Andress and Pierce Given
along with three granddaughters: Grace Matthews, Jolee and Aleah Given.
George then married Sharon (Molyneaux) Given on August 11, 1983.
She preceded him in death after a courageous battle with breast cancer
in 2008. They had one son Joshua Given.
He was also preceded in death by his parents and a stillborn
granddaughter Ava Rose Given.
Cremation has taken place. He will be laid to rest next to his loving
wife Sharon at Mission Hill Cemetery in Brimley, Michigan. A memorial is
planned for October 10 from 1-3pm at the First Congregational Church in
Harrison, Michigan.

WANDA E. WARBOY
JUNE 12, 1926 - SEPTEMBER 23, 2009
Wanda E. Warboy,
83, of Harrison, passed away Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at Mid
Michigan Medical Center-Clare. Wanda was born June 12, 1926 in Lewiston,
Michigan, the daughter of Reuben Edward and Cora Beatrice (Putman)
Bigger. Wanda was united in marriage to Mr. Theodore L. Warboy in August
of 1973 in Jackson, Michigan.
Mrs. Warboy had resided in Harrison since 1994, coming from Ann
Arbor. Wanda was a member of the Women of the Moose Lodge #2235 of
Harrison. She had been very active with the Women of the Moose for over
thirty years. Wanda enjoyed bowling, visiting with her friends at the
Harrison Moose and was a big fan of her husband Ted’s band.
Surviving is her loving husband, Theodore L. Warboy of Harrison,
two sons: John Rice of Farwell, Michigan, and Donald Rice and wife Norma
of Pontiac, Michigan, one daughter, Jennie Slack and husband Jerry of
Clare, Michigan, two step-sons: Theodore Warboy and wife Cathie of Mesa,
Arizona and Sam Warboy and wife Pam of Ann Arbor, three step-daughters:
Annie Dean and husband David of Black River, Michigan, Priscilla Lee and
husband William of Harrison and Tina Crowley and husband Rick of
Clearwater, Florida, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great
great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Warboy was
preceded in death by her parents, one son, Gerald Rice, one
step-daughter, Victoria Rice plus numerous brothers and sisters.
Funeral services were held Saturday, September 26, 2009 at 1:00
p.m. from Stocking Funeral Home, Harrison with members of the Women of
the Moose Lodge #2235 of Harrison officiating. Burial was in Pleasant
Plains Cemetery, Harrison. Memorial contributions in memory of Mrs.

ROBERT “BEETLE” BAILEY
Robert H. “Beetle”
Bailey, passed away Friday, September 25, 2009. Age 88 years of
Lake, Michigan. Robert Henry Bailey was born June 25, 1921 in Saginaw to
Charles J. and Mary E. (Diment) Bailey. He married Wilma Crites in 1947.
They shared 61 years together. She survives him. Mr. Bailey served his
country in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War Two. He was a member
of the American Legion, the VFW, Eagles and the 40 & 8 (Voiture). He had
worked on the Pere Marquette Railroad, and later for General Motors,
retiring in 1979. Bob had been a member of St. John Lutheran Church in
Saginaw.
Surviving besides his wife, he leaves five children; Charles J.
Bailey, Robert H. Bailey III, Linda Lake, Timothy J. Bailey, Terry
(Bill) Morgan, nine grandchildren and five great grand children, one
sister Ada Wendland, and many other loving family members and friends.
Bob was predeceased by his brother Jim Bailey, and two sisters Beatrice
Letson and Betty Sowulewski.
Funeral service took place at 2PM Monday, Sept. 28, 2009 at the
Reitz Herzberg Funeral Home on S. Midland RD (M47). Rev. Russell Thomas
officiated with interment following at Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
Military honors under the auspices of American Legion Post 439 were
observed at the cemetery. Visiting hours at the funeral home were from
9AM to the 2PM funeral service.

HERMAN G. DUERR
JUNE 24, 1931 ~ SEPTEMBER 30, 2009
Herman G. Duerr,
78, of Harrison, passed away Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at Covenant
Health Care-Cooper Campus, Saginaw, Michigan. Mr. Duerr was born June
24, 1931 in Nagold, Germany, the son of Adolf and Wilhelmine (Walz) Dürr.
Herman served his country in the United States Army during the Korean
Conflict. Mr. Duerr was united in marriage to the former Shirley Y.
Jones on June 29, 1957 in Detroit, Michigan.
Mr. Duerr retired from Campbell Ewald Advertising Agency of
Detroit, after many years of service. Herman taught art advertising and
design at Wayne State University of Detroit until he retired and moved
to Harrison in 1991, where he accepted a position with Mid Michigan
Community College of Harrison as a drawing and design instructor. Herman
enjoyed swimming, fishing and remodeling his home.
Surviving is his loving wife of fifty-two years, Shirley Y. Duerr of
Harrison, one son, Steffan Duerr and wife Marty of Royal Oak, Michigan,
two daughters; Suzanne Mihelich and husband Tom of Okemos, Michigan and
Krista Webster and husband Andy of Redford, Michigan, one sister,
Hildegard Weems of Dimondale, Michigan, six grandchildren and one
great-granddaughter. Mr. Duerr was preceded in death by his parents.
In following Mr. Duerr's wishes, cremation has taken place.
