PRUDENCE JANE OLSON

   Prudence Jane Olson 75 of Clare passed away Wednesday, October 24, 2007 at her home. Prudence was born April 24, 1932 in Ashland, Wisconsin, the daughter of Bertram and Stella (Nye) Robinson. Prudence had resided in Clare since moving from Cloquet, Minnesota.
   Prudence was united in marriage to Clifford Olson on December 28, 1968 in Proctor, Minnesota. Mr. Olson preceded Prudence in death on June 3, 1997. Mrs. Olson was a member of St. Johns Church of Wrenshall, Minnesota, life member of Cloquet V.F.W. Auxiliary, Ladies of the Moose-Clare, Michigan, Harrison Eagles Aerie #3541 Ladies Auxiliary and President of Cooties for year 2000. Prudence enjoyed ceramic painting and singing in her church choir.
   Surviving is one daughter, Debra Fontaine of Harrison, two grandchildren: Aaron Popovich and Shannon James Fontaine both of Harrison, one nephew, George Filiatrault and niece Bonnie, one step-daughter, Connie Mayo of Minnesota and two step-grandchildren: Julie and Jodie. Mrs. Olson also was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers: Thomas, Joseph and Eugene Robinson and two sisters: Lillian Filiatrault and Eileen Adamzak.
   In following Mrs. Olson's wishes, cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be announced at a later date. Inurnment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Cloquet, Minnesota. IRIS JEAN MILLER

   Iris Jean Miller 81 of Harrison passed away Thursday, October 25, 2007 at Mid Michigan Medical Center-Clare. Iris was born October 6, 1926 in Oakland County, Michigan, the daughter of Arthur and Kathleen (Murphy) Penrose. Iris was united in marriage to Hullon "HW" Miller on January 26, 1948 in Hazel Park, Michigan.
   Mrs. Miller had resided in Harrison since 1980, coming from Madison Heights, Michigan. Iris was a member of St. Athanasius Catholic Church, Harrison.
   Surviving is her loving husband, Hullon "HW" Miller of Harrison, one son, Larry Miller also of Harrison, one daughter, Shirley Milliken and husband Ed of Harrison, five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, plus many friends. Mrs. Miller was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters: Fern and Olive.
  Funeral services were held Monday, October 29, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. from St. Athanasius Catholic Church, Harrison, with Father Noel Rudy officiating. Inurnment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Harrison. Memorial donations in memory of Mrs. Miller may be considered to: American Cancer Society. LORI ANNETTE HALE

   Lori Annette Hale 48 of Harrison passed away Monday, November 5, 2007 at Mid Michigan Medical Center-Clare. Lori was born May 28, 1959 in Highland Park, Michigan, the daughter of Ray Lodell and Mary Ann (King) Sherwood. Lori was united in marriage to Rickey Lee Hale on June 19, 1993. Mrs. Hale had resided in Harrison since 1998, coming from Gladwin, Michigan.
  Mrs. Hale enjoyed caring for her grandchildren, crafting, reading, watching movies and gardening.
   Surviving is her loving husband, Rickey Lee Hale of Harrison, two sons: John Wetherell of California and Kevin Wetherell of Harrison, two brothers: John Sherwood of Coleman, Michigan and Mike Sherwood of Georgia, two sisters: Sherry and Jeanie, two grandchildren: Zachary and Faith Jennings, plus numerous nieces and nephews. Lori was preceded in death by her parents.

JOANNE CORA DAVIS

   Joanne Cora Davis 79 of Harrison passed away Thursday, October 25, 2007 at Tendercare-Clare. Joanne was born February 27, 1928 in Muskegon, Michigan, the daughter of Floyd A. and Mildred H. (Cutler) Davis. Mrs. Davis served her country in the United States Air Force. Joanne was united in marriage to Herbert J. Davis on October 27, 1992 in Harrison. Mrs. Davis had resided in Harrison since 1992, coming from Manistee, Michigan.
   Joanne enjoyed reading her bible, working on her computer and traveling with her husband Herbert.
   Surviving is her loving husband, Herbert J. Davis of Harrison, one son, Robert Lee of Manistee, five daughters: Debbie Lee of Hawaii, Sally Harris of Manistee, Kim Hughs and husband Danny also of Manistee, Suzanne Devine and husband Trevor of California and Elizabeth Lee of Traverse City, Michigan, three step-daughters: Nancy Popp of Garden City, Michigan, Cheryl Gault and husband John of Ortonville, Michigan and Gail Schuler of Florida, one sister, Jeannie Maui of Traverse City, twelve grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Joanne was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, A.J. Davis and one step-son, Francis E. Davis.
Celebration of Life services were held Monday, October 29, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. from Stocking Funeral Home, Harrison, with Rev. Lee Palmer officiating. Military honors services were conducted under the auspices of V.F.W. Post 1075 of Harrison. OPHELIA CARR

   Ophelia Carr, age 86, of Harrison passed away on Monday, October 29, 2007 at her home. She was born May 5, 1921 in Mississippi County, Missouri, the daughter of Bob and Pauline (Donohoe) Moore. Ophelia married George S. Carr on May 6, 1939 in Sikeston, Missouri. He preceded her in death on June 17, 1994.
   Mrs. Carr had resided in Harrison since 1969, coming from Redford Township, Michigan. She enjoyed quilting, flower gardening, watching wild animals and loved caring for wild birds.
   Surviving Ophelia is four sons, Stephen Carr and wife Jennifer of Ellenton, Florida, Gerald Carr of Vancouver, Canada, Robert Carr and wife Leslie of Haslett, Michigan and George Carr of Brighton, Michigan, one daughter, Suzanne Carr of Traverse City, Michigan, eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Carr was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Nancy Calahan, one brother, Billy Moore and one sister, Darlene O'Shea.

CARL E. EMENHISER

   Carl E. Emenhiser, 74 of Harrison, MI died Thursday, November 8, 2007. Mr. Emenhiser was born October 3, 1933 in Jonesboro, Arkansas, the son of Orville and Jewel (Brinkley) Emenhiser.
   He retired as an electrician for the State of Michigan in 1996 after 30 years. He served in the US Navy during the Korean War. He also greatly enjoyed hunting and fishing.
   Carl is survived by his wife of 23 years, Sandy (Gage) Emenhiser; children, James (Margie) Emenhiser of Bangor, Bill (Julie) Emenhiser of Sunfield, Hank (Cindy) Emenhiser and Carla (David) Barnard, both of Charlotte; step sons, David Michels of St. Johns, Kenneth (Jolleta) Michels of Eaton Rapids, James (Terri) Michels of CA, Mark Michels of Olivet; 18 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren; half sisters, Judy and Patty, both of Missouri. He was preceded in death by first wife Clara and 2 brothers.
   Funeral services were at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 13, 2007 at Pray Funeral Home with Pastor Eric Pittman officiating. Visitation was at 11:30 right before the service. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Hope Baptist Church in Harrison, MI.
