RICHARD DANIEL SHAFER

Richard Daniel "Rick" Shafer 51 of
Harrison passed away Saturday, November 10, 2007 at his home. Rick was
born August 13, 1956 in Clare, Michigan, the son of Ira Eugene and Donna
B. (Dehmel) Shafer. Mr. Shafer had resided in Harrison since 1987,
coming from Clare. Rick was united in marriage to the former Karen L.
Sawyer on September 10, 1991 in Toledo, Ohio.
Rick was a member of the Clare Church of the Nazarene, Harrison
Loyal Order of Moose-Lodge #2235, Harrison Eagles-Aerie #3541 and Mott
Motorsports Bike Night Club of Harrison. Rick enjoyed snowmobiling,
motorcycling, swimming, carpentry and spending time with his wife and
children.
Surviving is his loving wife, Karen L. Shafer of Harrison, two
sons: Matthew E. Shafer and wife Katie of South Haven, Michigan and
Bryan Michael Ray of Harrison, four daughters: Sarah Lee Shafer of
Avondale, Arizona, Danielle Marie Shafer, Magan Lynn Shafer and Morgan
Ann Shafer all of Harrison, his mother, Donna B. Shafer of Clare, one
brother, Robert Shafer also of Clare, two sisters: Betty McKinney of
Clare and Katherine Ranck and husband Roy of Coleman, Michigan, one
grandson, Elijah James Shafer of South Haven, thirteen nieces and
nephews, six great-nieces and nephews, mother and father in laws, Sandra
and Greg Lott of Harrison and Rod Underwood and Joy Taylor of West
Milton, Ohio, his grandmother and grandfather in law, Grace and Monroe
Cross also of Harrison, three brothers in law: Shane Lott and wife
Claudi of Genoa City, Wisconsin, James Underwood and wife Sheryl of
Minooka, Illinois and Mike and wife Steph Underwood of Tipp City, Ohio,
two sisters in law: Kimberly Cox and husband Joe of Harrison and Connie
Shafer of Clare. Mr. Shafer was preceded in death by his father, Ira E.
Shafer and one brother, Roger Shafer.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 14, 2007 at 10:00
a.m. from Stocking Funeral Home, Harrison with Exec. Pastor Tim Fall
officiating. Burial will be in Wise Township Cemetery, Loomis, Michigan.

BARNEY DEAN EDWARDS
Barney Dean Edwards 56 of Harrison
passed away Tuesday, November 13, 2007 at his home. Mr. Edwards was born
May 2, 1951 in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Barney and Mable (Tomalson)
Edwards. Barney was united in marriage to Rexanna "Rex" Bayliss on June
30, 1971 in Rochester, Michigan. Rexanna preceded Barney in death on
October 22, 2003.
Barney had resided in Harrison since 1979, coming from White Lake,
Michigan. Mr. Edwards was a member of the Harrison Loyal Order of
Moose-Lodge #2235.
Surviving are two sons: James D. Edwards and wife Fernette of
Harrison and Terrance Hall who is currently serving his country in Iraq,
two daughters: Michelle Howey and husband Charles of Inman, South
Carolina and Anna Hutchinson and husband Seth of Evart, Michigan, one
brother, David Edwards and wife Candy, two sisters: Sheila Zukowski and
husband Mitch of Westland, Michigan and Judy Bridges and husband Jim
also of Westland, thirteen grandchildren, one great-grandchild and many
nieces and nephews. Mr. Edwards also was preceded in death by his
parents.
Memorial services were held Friday, November 16, 2007 at 1:00 p.m.

REV. EUGENE SHAVER
Eugene "Gene"
Frederick Shaver, age 64, of Harrison, passed away on Friday,
November 9, 2007 at the Mid-Michigan Regional Medical Center in Midland,
Michigan. He was born the son of Maynard and Mary (Miller) Shaver on
July 27, 1943 in Fargo, Michigan. Eugene had served in the United States
Navy, worked as a fork-truck-driver for General Motors, and was Pastor
of the Corunna Road Baptist Church in Flint, Michigan for five years. On
November 28, 1964, he was united in marriage to the former Joyce Burrows
in Flint, Michigan. In his spare time, he enjoyed: fishing, hunting,
participating in field-trials with his beagles, traveling, watching
Nascar, and being an active member of the Pathway Baptist Church in
Houghton Lake, Michigan. His greatest-passion was spending time with his
family. He had lived in the Harrison area since 1998 where he had moved
from Flint, Michigan.
Eugene is survived by his wife, Joyce, of Harrison; his son, David
(Tammy) Shaver of Chatham, Ontario; one daughter, Shawna (Aaron)
Guilkema of Lansing, Michigan; his three grandchildren: Brandon, Hannah,
and Kegan Shaver; and his two brothers and one sister. He was preceded
in death by one brother.
Funeral services took place on Monday, November 12, 2007 at 11:00
a.m. from the Stocking Funeral Home with Pastor Phillip Williams
officiating. Burial took place in the Evergreen (Frost Township)

WILLIAM J. MAGNUS
William J. Magnus,
84. Of Englewood, Florida passed away October 15, 2007.
Mr. Magnus was born in Wayne County, Michigan and lived in the
Detroit area until retiring to the Mid-Michigan area. He was previously
married to Betty Budd, deceased. He had been a permanent resident of
Englewood with his loving wife Margaret since 1987.
Mr. Magnus was in the Army in W.W.II, a member of the 101st
Airborne and the 82nd Airborne Divisions. He received the Theater Ribbon
with a Bronze Star; Good Conduct Medal, Victory Medal and an
Occupational Medal (Germany).
Bill was an Operating Engineer, Local 324 of Livonia, Michigan. He
proudly helped to build much of the infrastructure in the Detroit area.
He was a member of the American Legion of Englewood and Clare, Michigan,
the Moose Lodge and the Fraternal Order of Eagles both of Englewood and
a life member of the V.F.W.
He is survived by his loving wife Margaret; his sister, Mary
(Kermit Lee) Foster; sister in laws Marion Magnus and Verna Green;
step-child Annette (Ken) Roberts; grandchildren, Jessica Datta (Niladri),
Chad Bridget (Bridgette) and 2 great grandchildren. He will be missed by
many. Bill was predeceased by his parents, Edward and Louise Magnus, 2
brothers, John and Edward.
Memorial service was held at the Englewood V.F.W. Post 10178, 550
McCall Road, Englewood on November 8, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. Lemon Bay

PATRICIA LYNN HERCLIFF
Patricia Lynn Hercliff,
age 28, of Farmington Hills, passed away suddenly on Friday, Nov. 17, at
her home. She was born the daughter of George and Sharon (Moore)
Hercliff on May 11, 1979, in Mt. Pleasant. She had lived most of her
life in the Detroit Metro area.
Patricia is survived by her son Austin Hercliff of Clare, her
mother, Sharon Burgan of Warren, Mich., and father, George Hercliff of
Clare, her sister, Samantha (Jim) Cichoski of Lk. Buena Vista, Fla., her
maternal grandparents Byron and Donna Moore of Orion, Mich., and several
aunts, uncles, and cousins. Her paternal grandparents, Howard and
Margaret Hercliff preceded her in death.
Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, Nov. 21, at 11 AM from
the Clare Chapel of Stephenson-Wyman Funeral Home with Pastor Dennis
