EZRA JOHN PARKER
Ezra John Parker,
83, of Harrison passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2008 at Mid Michigan
Medical Center-Clare. Ezra was born October 28, 1924 in Hemans,
Michigan, the son of Andrew and Ellen (Garbet) Parker. Mr. Parker was
united in marriage to Ethel Marie Hayward on June 30, 1945 in Marlette,
Michigan. Mrs. Parker preceded Ezra in death on March 25, 2001. Mr.
Parker had resided in Harrison since 1980, coming from Dearborn Heights,
Michigan.
Ezra enjoyed hunting, cutting firewood, gardening, bird watching,
traveling, camping, fishing, helping his neighbors and loved being
around children, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving are his two sons: Daniel Parker and wife Janice K. of
Westland, Michigan and Terry Parker and wife Ena of Phoenix, Arizona;
one daughter, Linda Sobry and husband Larry of Kingsville, Ontario; one
brother, Howard Parker of Decker, Michigan; five grandchildren: Carol,
Todd, Cary, Gary and Stacey, seven great-grandchildren: Zachery,
Candice, Cassidy, Courtney, Jacob, Jordan and Abigail, plus numerous
nieces and nephews. Mr. Parker also was preceded in death by his
parents, three brothers: Earl, Oscar and Jim Parker and one sister,
Agnes Brown.
Memorial services for Mr. Parker will be held on Saturday, May 3,
2008 at 1:00 p.m. from Stocking Funeral Home with Pastor Ron Callen
officiating. Inurnment will be in Pleasant Plains Cemetery, Harrison.

ELOISE JONES

Eloise M. Jones,
age 85, of Harrison, Passed away on Friday, May 2, 2008 at the
Northwoods Nursing Center in Farwell, Michigan. She was born the
daughter of Carl and Lydia (Troester) Krebs on September 23, 1922 in
Cedar Rapids, Iowa. In 1940, she graduated from Cedar Rapids High
School. She was united in marriage to Charles E. Jones in 1944 in Cedar
Rapids, Iowa. Mr. Jones preceded her in death on July 28, 1976. Eloise
was a member of the Harrison Home and Garden Club and was also a life
member of the Fraternal Order of Eastern Stars #184 of Cedar Rapids,
Iowa. She had lived in the Harrison area since 1946 where she had moved
from Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
She is survived by her son, Charles Jones, II of Harrison; her
brother, Alvin (Ruth Ann) Krebs of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; her three
grandchildren: Rick (Lisa) Jones of Ann Arbor, Michigan, Sue (Bill)
Fobear, and Andy Jones all of Harrison; five great-grandchildren:
Steven, Teri, Amanda, Evan, and Colin. She was preceded in death by her
parents, her husband, a son, Robert Ernest Jones, a brother, Robert
Krebs, and a grandson, Steven Jones.
Funeral services took place on Tuesday, May 6, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at
the Stocking Funeral Home with Elder Dale Beavers officiating.
Internment took place in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Harrison. Memorial
contributions may be considered to the Alzheimers Association or the

WINIFRED ANN JOHNSON

Winifred Ann Johnson,
68, of Harrison, Michigan, recently of Stevensville, Michigan, passed
away Tuesday afternoon, April 29, 2008 following her long and courageous
fight with Multiple Myeloma.
Win was born October 16, 1939, in Medina, New York to Chester and
Sybil Eaton. She moved to Michigan in 1959 and has called Harrison her
home away from home. Win's main career was mother but also took on the
roll of Clare County Treasurer. She started working for the Clare County
Treasurer's office in 1976 and in 1988 she was appointed the Clare
County Treasurer and held that position until she retired in 2004.
Win was actively involved in the Michigan Association of County
Treasurers and the united County Officers Association. She was a member
of the First Congregational Church and enjoyed singing in the Choir and
ringing the bells for many years. For years, she was a Girl Scout
Leader, Harrison Hornet fan, and an involved member of the Republican
Party. She loved being social and was a bowler and golfer throughout her
life. Win's greatest passion however was her family and friends. Her
most cherished times in life were when she was with family and friends.
She had an amazing sense of humor and a great knack at making people
feel comfortable. She was a people's person and will be missed by many.
A Memorial service was held at the First Congregational Church, in
Harrison, on May 5th at 5:00 p.m. Burial will be private. Memorial
donations may be made to the Harrison Community Library, the Multiple
Myeloma Research Foundation, or the Berrien County Cancer Service.

Win is survived by her children, Laurie (Brian) Kelly of
Stevensville, Michigan, Charrise (Brent) Martin of Centennial, Colorado,
Kristen Johnson of Manistee, Michigan and Gregory (Lisa) Johnson of
Allentown, Pennsylvania; grandchildren, Erin Kelly and Grace and Andrew
Johnson; and by her brother, Charles (Bonnie) Eaton of Medina, New York;
and many nieces and nephews and by a host of friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother,
Bill (Sarah) Eaton and by her sister, Jayne Eaton Crandall.
