JACK ELBERT SNOEK

Jack Elbert Snoek,
87, of Harrison, passed away Saturday, December 22, 2007 at Tendercare
of Clare. Mr. Snoek was born June 22, 1920 in Amsterdam, Holland, the
son of Elbertus and Margaretha (Hamann) Snoek. Jack served his country
in the United States Army. Mr. Snoek was united in marriage to the
former Kathryn May on November 13, 1943, Kathryn preceded Jack in death.
He was then united in marriage to the former Laura B. Burnett on October
29, 1984. Mr. Snoek had resided in Harrison since 1987, coming from
Bristol, Virginia and Bellaire, Michigan.
Jack was employed for twenty one years as a machine repairman with
Excello Corporation and twenty years as an equipment mechanic with the
State of Michigan-Highway Department of Lansing, Michigan. Mr. Snoek
enjoyed building and flying model aircrafts and also spent many hours
fishing.
Surviving is Mr. Snoek's wife, Laura B. Snoek of Harrison, two
daughters: Patricia Kellogg of Traverse City, Michigan and Laura Jo
White and husband William of Wyoming, Michigan, one son, Richard St. Cyr
and wife Debra of Troy, Michigan, two sisters: Virginia and Irene of
California, six grandchildren: Shawn, Nicole, Tony, Terry, Ginger and
Joel, three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Snoek
also was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Robert St. Cyr, one
sister, Mary and one grandson, Jeremy.
In following Mr. Snoek's wishes, cremation has taken place.

GORDON STANLEY SHARPE
Gordon Stanley Sharpe,
67, of Harrison, passed away suddenly Thursday, December 20, 2007. Mr.
Sharpe was born June 23, 1940 in Pontiac, Michigan, the son of Jesse
Louis and Mary Ellen (Marsh) Sharpe. Gordon served his country in the
United States Navy.
Gordon was united in marriage to the former Kathleen Marie Taylor
on June 25, 1994 in Harrison. Gordon had resided in Harrison since 1994,
coming from Holly and Milford, Michigan. Mr. Sharpe retired from Ford
Motor Company after thirty years of service. Gordon was a member of the
Loyal Order of Moose-Lodge #2235 of Harrison. Gordon worked for several
years with the Clare County Sheriff Reserves. In his free time, Gordon
enjoyed hunting, collecting guns and riding four-wheelers.
Surviving is his loving wife, Kathleen M. Sharpe of Harrison, one
daughter, Victoria Leigh Lovejoy of Waterford, Michigan, one
step-daughter, Robin Kuhles-Hill and husband Jim Hill of Harrison, one
step-son, Robert Kuhles also of Harrison, one sister, Eva Vallette and
husband Charles of St. Helen, Michigan, five grandchildren: Matthew,
Robert, Barbara Jean, Brittni and Kyle. Mr. Sharpe was preceded in death
by his parents, two sons: Jared Thomas Sharpe and James Matthew Sharpe,
eight brothers and sisters and one grandson, Ryan Larson.
Celebration of Life memorial services for Mr. Sharpe took place
Wednesday, December 26, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. from Lynch and Sons Funeral

LESLIE JAMES KELLOGG
Leslie J. Kellogg, 36, of Harrison,
and Wolverine, Michigan passed away on December 18, 2007 at his home in
Harrison.
He was born on March 26, 1971, the son of Leslie Lyle and Jamie Lou
(Marsh) Kellogg in Midland, Michigan. Mr. Kellogg married Angela J.
Smith on September 8, 2007. Mr. Kellogg was a member of the National
Rifle Association and was an avid outdoorsman. Leslie enjoyed hunting,
fishing, metal detecting, camping and loved nature.
Surviving Mr. Kellogg is his loving wife Angela of Harrison, his
son, Cameron Leslie Kellogg also of Harrison, his devoted parents,
Leslie and Jamie Kellogg of Gladwin, sister, Heidi M. Jones and husband
Keith of Harrison, niece, Autumn Jones and nephew, Micah Jones both of
Harrison, maternal grandparents, James "Pete" and Patricia Marsh of
Midland, mother in law, Penny Molony of Harrison, grandfather and
grandmother in law, Donald and Thelma Kelley of Prescott, Michigan and
numerous family and friends.
Funeral services took place on Friday, December 21, 2007 at 1:00
p.m. from Stocking Funeral Home, Harrison with Chaplain Wayne Boughan

WILLIAM C. CARROLL SR.
Carroll, William C., Sr., age 82, of
Hatton, MI died December 23, 2007. Beloved husband of the late Opal.
Loving father of William Carroll, Jr. and the late Linda Carroll. Dear
grandfather of Billy Joe and John Conley of Georgia. Also survived by
numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Carroll was a WWII Army Veteran and an active 32nd degree
mason. He was also a retired UAW autoworker who was retired from GM.

BARTHOL VERNON LEY
1930 ~ 2007
Barthol Vernon Ley, age 77, of
Harrison, Michigan, passed away on Saturday, December 29, 2007 at the
Tendercare Nursing Home in Clare, Michigan. He was born the son of
Alwanna Ley on December 22, 1930 in Dayton, Ohio. He had worked as a die
press operator in the auto manufacturing industry for many years and was
a member of the Harrison Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #2235. He had lived
in the Harrison area since 1985 where he had moved from Berville,
Michigan.
He is survived by his five sons: Thomas Ley, William (Patti) Ley,
Richard Ley, and Michael Ley, all of Springhill Tennessee Phil Ley of
Detroit; his daughter, Barbara H. (Fred) Stoutenburg of Harrison, three
step-sons: Roy Michael Richards of Detroit, Michigan, Roger Blair, and
Mike (Diane) Blair all of Harrison; three step-daughters: Kathy Blair,
Denise Parker, and Debbie Richards all of Detroit; a brother, Vernon Ley
of Dayton, Ohio; thirteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren;
and Thelma (Harris) McGuire of Clare, who is the mother of Bart's
children. He was preceded in death by his mother and his pre-deceased
former wives: Edna Newton, Pat Blair, Elaine Barnett, and Betty Hicks.
Funeral services took place on Thursday, January 3, 2008 at 3:00
p.m. from the Stocking Funeral Home in Harrison with Pastor Eric Pittman
officiating. Full-military-honors was conducted by members of the
Harrison V.F.W. Post #1075. Burial is in the Pleasant Plains Cemetery in
