DONNA M. CORP

   Donna M. Corp, 52, of L’Anse, left this world to go to the next, following a short battle with cancer on Friday, January 26, 2007. She was born in Detroit, MI on December 18, 1954 daughter of the late Lynn and Lorraine (Nephew) Griffis. Donna was raised in Detroit and moved to Harrison, MI in 1969 when she attended and graduated from Harrison High School. It was in Harrison where Donna met her husband Lamont “Kip” Corp and started their family. Donna and Kip also opened the Enchanted Rock Goldsmithing, which stood in existence for over 20 years. After short stays in Phoenix and Las Vegas, the Corp’s headed north to L’Anse to begin the next chapter of their lives. Donna enjoyed working at the Holiday Gas Station in L’Anse and taking her dog, Cleo to the water. She also loved to do bead work and paint the Lake Superior shoreline.
   Mrs. Corp is survived by her loving husband of 29 years, Lamont Corp II of L’Anse, her three children, Lamont III (Jennifer) Corp of Battle Creek, MI, Marcella Corp of Mt. Pleasant, MI, and Candice Corp of L’Anse, her only grandson, Brecken Corp, father-in-law, Lamont Corp I, sister-in-law, Melode Corp Leavitt, and her niece and nephew, Shannon and Shawn Griffis. She was preceded in death by her brothers, George and Ronald Griffis.
   A memorial service for Mrs. Corp was held at 3 pm., Monday, January 29, 2007 at the Reid Funeral Service and Chapel, L’Anse with Father Augustin George officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral chapel on Monday from 2 p.m. until time of the service. The family has entrusted funeral arrangements to the Reid Funeral Service and Chapel, L’Anse. MICHAEL SCOTT EAKINS

   Michael Scott Eakins 41 of Harrison passed away suddenly on Thursday, January 25, 2007. Michael was born June 19, 1965 in Torrence,California, the son of Donald Marvin and Sandy (Radcliff) Eakins. Mr. Eakins had resided in Harrison since 2003, coming from Henderson, Kentucky. Michael was united in marriage to Lucille F. "Luci" Barnhart on August 23, 1997.
   Mr. Eakins loved animals, cooking for family and friends, making people smile and laugh and never hesitated to help those in need.
   Surviving are his loving wife; Luci F. Eakins of Harrison, his mother; Sandy Alsop of Salt Lake City, Utah, five sons; Thomas McClure of Great Lakes, Illinois, Christopher Eakins of Harrison, Matthew Knight of Owensboro, Kentucky, Brendon Gill of Owensboro and Steven McClure also of Owensboro, two daughters; Brandy Knight of Owensboro and Shana Gill also of Owensboro, two brothers; Donald Eakins and wife Sally of Bremerton, Washington and Ricky Eakins and wife Kathy of Arizona, several aunts and uncles and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Eakins was preceded in death by his father.
   Memorial services will be held Thursday, February 1, 2007 at 3:00 p.m. from Stocking Funeral Home, Harrison, with Elder Dale Beavers officiating. THOMAS FREDERICK KITTLE

   Thomas "Tom" Frederick Kittle 34 of Harrison passed away Sunday, January 28, 2007 at St. Mary's of Michigan, Saginaw, Michigan. Tom was born February 28, 1972 in Fulda, Germany, the son of Charles Frederick and Ingrid Marie (Warnken) Kittle. Mr. Kittle was united in marriage to Melissa Joy Kiefer on August 12, 2000 in Belleville, Michigan. Tom had resided in Harrison since 2005, coming from Detroit, Michigan.
Mr. Kittle enjoyed repairing automobiles, woodworking and building dune buggies. Tom was always willing to help those in need.
   Surviving are his loving wife; Melissa J. Kittle, three sons; Frankie, Travis and Connor, one daughter; Cheyenne Kittle all of Harrison, his parents; Charles F. and Ingrid M. Kittle of Harrison, one sister; Karen Kittle of Harrison, two brothers; Andy Kittle and wife Sarah of Detroit and Michael Kittle and wife Debbie of Garden City, Michigan, several aunts and uncles, three nephews; Timothy Kittle of Harrison, Jeremiah Kittle of Garden City and Alexander Kittle of Detroit, many cousins, his mother in law; Bonnie Stratz of Redford, Michigan, grandmother in law; June Magee, plus numerous friends.
   Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 31, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. from Stocking Funeral Home, Harrison, with Reverend Jerry Britton officiating. Cremation will follow services at North Central Michigan Crematory, Marion, Michigan. SYLVIA V. LETOURNEAU

   Sylvia V. (Lauhala) LeTourneau was born in Hibbing, Minnesota on December 6, 1913. Formerly from St. Clair Shores, Michigan, she passed away on January 31, 2007 at age 93 in Harrison, Michigan. She was the beloved mother of James and Sheila; Sharon and Richard Gates; Joan; Nancy; and Peter and Mary. She was loving grandmother to James Jr., Kristen Michele and Robert; Megan, Marcy and Lyssa; Angell and Scott; Kimberly, J.D., Shari and Ryan; Peter Jr., Alex and Yvonne. She was loving great-grandmother to twenty-seven.
   She was preceded in death by her parents, Victor and Hilda Lauhala and sister, Lillian Hurley. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, making doll clothing and furniture, cooking and watching golf on television. Relatives and friends will miss her feisty, funny, upbeat outlook on life. Private memorial and cremation honored her wishes. Arrangements were entrusted with Stocking Funeral Home, Harrison.
