HILDA MARGARET ERSKINE
October 16, 1946 - December 18, 2009
Hilda Margaret Erskine,
63 of Harrison, passed away Friday, December 18, 2009 at Mid Michigan
Medical Center-Midland Campus. Hilda was born October 16, 1946 in
Franklin Township, Michigan, the daughter of Thomas Alfred and Clara
Anna (Miller) Erskine.
Ms. Erskine was a life resident of rural Harrison. Hilda attended
St. Athanasius Catholic Church, Harrison for many years. Hilda enjoyed
needlepoint, puzzles and watching television, especially day time soaps.
Surviving Hilda are five sisters: Barbara Sherman and husband
Donald of Gladwin, Michigan, Anna Coon and husband Larry of Harrison,
Mary Merritt and husband Stanley of Elmira, Michigan, Susanna O’Dell of
Standish, Michigan and Nancy Taverniti and husband Joe of Pensacola,
Florida, three brothers: Alfred Erskine and wife Phyllis of Harrison,
Thomas Erskine and wife Karen of Harrison and John Erskine and wife
Valdine also of Harrison, fourteen nieces, eight nephews and many
great-nieces and nephews. Hilda was preceded in death by her parents,
her brother-in-law, George O’Dell, two nieces and two nephews.
Funeral services for Hilda was held Tuesday, December 22, 2009 at
11:00 a.m. from Stocking Funeral Home, Harrison, with Sister Jean T.
Baumann officiating. Burial is in the St. Athanasius Catholic Cemetery,
Harrison. Memorial contributions in memory of Ms. Erskine may be

DONALD PAUL MILLISOR
Donald Paul Millisor,
age 77, of Harrison, passed away on Thursday, December 24, 2009 at his
home in Harrison. He was born the son of Henry William and Eleanor
Tinsey (Bausman) Millisor on March 19, 1932 in River Rouge, Michigan.
Donald had served in the United States Air Force, and had also served as
a manager of a welding company for many years. In his spare time, he
enjoyed hunting, fishing, making wooden lawn ornaments, tinkering in his
garage, and caring for his animals. When time permitted, he favored his
sweet-tooth by snacking on “Tootsie Rolls.” Mr. Millisor had lived in
the Harrison area since 1999, where he had moved from Ecorse, Michigan.
He is survived by his best friend, and the love of his life, Sue
Grabowski, of Harrison; his sons: David C. Millisor, Mark Grabowski, and
Jim Grabowski, all of Harrison, and David Ray of Springfield, Ohio; his
daughters: Sharon (Doug) Elkins of Harrison, Marilyn (Brian) Rowland of
Springfield, Tennessee, Mary Grabowski and Brian Ferry of Harrison, and
Lisa Mancini also of Harrison; eighteen grandchildren, eighteen
great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews; and his special friends,
Joe and Cheryl Roby of Harrison. He was preceded in death by his
parents, five sisters: Ruth Lezotte, Carmeita Burrack, Bessie Sampson,
Bertha Mogg, and Eva; two brothers, Chuck and Robert Millisor; and
several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at
4:00 p.m. from the Stocking Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Tanner
officiating, along with military honors. In keeping with Don’s wishes,
cremation will follow. Visitation will take place on Tuesday from 1:00
p.m. until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be considered

WAYNE PARKER

Wayne Parker, age 80, of Harrison,
Michigan, passed away on Friday, December 25, 2009 at his home in
Harrison. He was born the son of Nick and Onie (Brown) Parker on
November 27, 1929 in Trust, North Carolina. Wayne had worked in the
steel industry prior to his retirement. He was also an active member of
the Harrison Moose Lodge #2235 and the John J. Carton Lodge #436 of
Harrison.
He is survived by his two sons, Gary Parker of Ecorse, Michigan and
Robert A. (Patricia) Parker of Romulus, Michigan; a daughter, Vickie
Catherman of Bath, New York; a grandchild, Louis Sobczyk and twelve
additional grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and several
great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his extended family, Edna
Johnston and the Dean family.
Funeral services took place on Monday, December 28, 2009 at 1:00
p.m. at the Stocking Funeral Home in Harrison. Funeral services were
provided by officers and members of the Harrison Moose Lodge #2235 and
the John J. Carton Lodge #436. In keeping with Wayne’s wishes, cremation

CALKINS Inez
M. Calkins, 91, of Houghton Lake passed away on Monday, December 21,
2009 at King Nursing and Rehabilitation Community of Houghton Lake.
Inez was born on March 27, 1918 in Mio, Michigan to the late Percy
and Gerda Mae (Terwilliger) White. She was married in Flint on May 22,
1937 to Delbert Calkins, and Delbert preceded her in death in 1987. The
couple moved from Detroit to the Houghton Lake area in 1953. Inez was a
member of St. John Lutheran Church.
Surviving Mrs. Calkins are her loving daughters, Jonila (Richard)
Brooks of Harrison, and Linda (Steve) Sarver of Hastings; her beloved
sons, Jerry (Karen) Calkins of California, and Bruce (Sharon) Calkins of
Jackson; nine grandchildren; several great grandchildren and great great
grandchildren; along with several nieces and nephews. She was preceded
in death by her parents, her husband Delbert, one sister, and two
brothers.
Funeral services for Mrs. Inez M. Calkins will be conducted 11:00AM
Monday, January 4, 2010 at St. John Lutheran Church with Rev. William
Winter officiating. Interment will be in Roscommon Township Cemetery,
Houghton Lake. Visitation will be held Sunday, January 3, 2010 from 2:00
to 5:00PM at Christler Funeral Home, Houghton Lake Chapel. Those wishing
to make memorial contributions are asked to consider St. John Lutheran
Church.
