GWENDOLYN MAE MADOL

   Gwendolyn Mae Madol 76 of Gladwin passed away Thursday, November 29, 2007 at her home. Gwendolyn was born May 7, 1931 in Newfoundland, the daughter of Harold and Maude (Forward) Moulton. Gwendolyn was united in marriage to Harry Dale Madol on October 26, 1953 in St. Johns, Newfoundland. Mr. Madol preceded Gwendolyn in death in 1967.
   Mrs. Madol had resided in Gladwin since January 1, 2007, coming from Harrison and Bay City, Michigan. Gwendolyn was an avid bingo player and enjoyed watching game shows on television.
   Surviving are three sons: Lewis Madol of Edmonton, Canada, Robert Madol and wife Cathy of St. Johns, Newfoundland and Harold “Rick” Madol and wife Jill of Harrison, three daughters: Pat Mead of Bay City, Mabel Muma and husband Stanley of Gladwin and Brenda Falanga of South Carolina, one brother, Frank Moulton of Nova Scotia, two sisters: Maizie Carter and Hilda Hiscock both of Newfoundland, fifteen grandchildren, twenty two great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Madol was also preceded in death by her parents and a granddaughter, Theresa, who passed away in 1980.
   Funeral services for Mrs. Madol were held on Sunday, December 2, 2007 at 3:00 p.m. from Stocking Funeral Home, Harrison with Elder Roger Wiltse officiating. Inurnment was in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Bay City, Michigan. Memorial contributions in memory of Mrs. Madol may be considered to: Hospice of Helping Hands-West Branch, Michigan. EMIL L. FIMBINGER

   Emil L. Fimbinger, age 83, of Harrison, Michigan, died Tuesday, December 4, 2007 at the Northwoods Nursing Center in Farwell, Michigan.
   Born March 9, 1924 in Dearborn, Michigan, he was the son of the late Emil and Marie (Svek) Fimbinger. He served during World War II in the United States Army and received 5 bronze battle stars. He married Peggy Ballard in Dearborn, Michigan, on November 3, 1945. He graduated from Michigan State University in 1950. He was employed as a County Agent for the Cooperative Extension Service in Washtenaw, Oakland, Marquette, and Cheboygan counties until his retirement in 1980. He received the National Distinguished Service Award to 4-H in 1968. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends building deer blinds, sport shooting and "organizing" his workshop and garage. He especially enjoyed any chance to get-together with people to celebrate life with "good food and good company." He was a member and former officer of the Clare Rod and Gun Club and the Lake George Boosters Club.
   He was proceeded in death by three sisters: Emily Kotimko, Vlasta Proctor, and Helyn Skinner.
  Survivors include: his wife, Peggy Fimbinger of Harrison; two sons: Russell (Elizabeth) Fimbinger of Marion, Michigan, Kenneth (Sheila) Fimbinger of Cheboygan, Michigan; two sisters: Herma Hergenroeder and Milly Palm, both of Dearborn, Michigan; six grandchildren: Jessica (Ralph) Farver of Cheboygan, Amanda (Rob) Viau of Springfield, Missouri, Josef Fimbinger of Harper Woods, Michigan, Peter Fimbinger of Dowagiac, Michigan, Nicholas Fimbinger of Marion, and Myles Fimbinger of Cheboygan; and four great-grandchildren: Marissa Thorn, Madison and Warren Farver, and Grant Viau.
    A Funeral Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 8, 2007 at St. Athanasius Catholic Church in Harrison, Michigan, with Father Noel Rudy as Celebrant. According to Mr. Fimbinger's wishes, his body was donated to the Department of Anatomical Donation at Michigan State University.
    Memorial contributions may be sent to St. Athanasius Church in Harrison, the American Heart Association, or the National Kidney Foundation of Michigan. Arrangements were entrusted to the Stocking Funeral Home in Harrison, Michigan (989)539-7810.

JUDY WALTERS

   Judy Walters, 58 of Harrison, passed away Sunday, December 9, 2007 at her home. Judy was born January 25, 1949 in Madison Heights, Michigan, the daughter of Bert and June (Sereda) Walters. Judy had resided in Harrison since 1979, coming from Clawson, Michigan. Judy was united in marriage to Joseph Grantham on February 24, 1991 in Harrison.
   Mrs. Walters had worked for Glens Markets formerly Ashcrafts of Harrison as an assistant manager for over ten years. Judy also was employed with Stryker's Lakeside Marina of Edenville, Michigan and Stocking Funeral Home, Harrison. She volunteered many hours with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Clare County. Judy had a great love for people, cooking and baking, caring for her birds and taking care of her family.
   Celebration of Life services for Judy will be held Friday, December 14, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. from Stocking Funeral Home, Harrison, with Pastors Lee Palmer and Chuck Malson officiating. Visitation will take place Wednesday, December 12, 2007 from 6:00-9:00 p.m. and Thursday, December 13, 2007 from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Burial will be at Maple Grove Cemetery, Harrison. Memorial contributions in memory of Judy may be considered to: Big Brothers Big Sisters of Clare County or Pardee Cancer Treatment Fund of Clare County. LESLIE DAVID DEGIORGIS

   Leslie David DeGiorgis, 22 of Harrison, passed away Thursday, December 6, 2007. David was born October 11, 1985 in Clare, Michigan, the son of David Charles and Tonya Marie (Hill) DeGiorgis. David had resided in Harrison his entire life. Mr. DeGiorgis enjoyed hunting, fishing, cutting wood and grey hound racing.
   Surviving is his father, David C. DeGiorgis of Farwell, Michigan, his mother, Tonya M. DeGiorgis of Harrison, three step-sisters: Charlee Bradley, Holly Carlisle and Lindy DeGiorgis, maternal grandmother, Alice Hill of Harrison, paternal grandparents: Charles and Joy DeGiorgis of Lake George, Michigan, maternal step-grandfather, Jack Miller of Harrison, two nephews: Jonathon Rauch II and Glenn Rauch both of Harrison, plus numerous friends. Mr. DeGiorgis was preceded in death by his sister, Amanda Alice Rauch on June 22, 2006.
   Memorial services for David will be held Wednesday, December 12, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. from Stocking Funeral Home, Harrison, with Elder Dale Beavers officiating. ZITA MARIE HATCH

   Zita Marie Hatch, 81 of Harrison, passed away Friday, December 7, 2007 at Mid Michigan Medical Center-Midland. Zita was born May 9, 1926 in Fowler, Michigan, the daughter of Albert and Eva (O'Hren) Lawens. Zita was united in marriage to Robert William Hatch on September 28, 1968 in Lansing, Michigan. Mr. Hatch preceded Zita in death on April 3, 2000. Mrs. Hatch had resided in Harrison since 1983, coming from Dewitt, Michigan.
   Zita was a member of St. Athanasius Catholic Church, Harrison, Women of the Moose Lodge#2235 of Harrison, American Legion Post 404 of Harrison - Ladies Auxiliary and Fraternal Order of Eagles-Aerie #3541 also of Harrison.
   Surviving are one son, Daniel Smith and wife Sandra of Holt, Michigan, two daughters: Sandra Lerch and husband Richard of Lansing and Diane Bloom and husband Tom of Holt, one sister, Jeanne Smith of Escanaba, Michigan, seven grandchildren: Lisa, Derik, Julya, Chris, Brian, Matthew and Amy, eleven great-grandchildren and a special friend, Florence Hayes of Harrison. Mrs. Hatch also was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Gerald Lawens.
   A Memorial Mass will be held Saturday, December 15, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. from St. Athanasius Catholic Church, Harrison, with Father Noel Rudy officiating.
