BETTIE JEAN BARBER

Bettie Jean Barber,
age 79, of Harrison, passed away on Saturday, July 28, 2007 at the King
Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Community in Houghton Lake, Michigan.
She was born the daughter of Francis and Lena A. (Taylor) Higgins on
March 30, 1928 in Harrison, Michigan. On May 29, 1949, she was united in
marriage to Donald L. Barber Sr. in Harrison. She had retired from
public education where she had worked as a secretary.
Bettie is survived by her husband, Donald, of Harrison, her
daughters: Sherry Jagger and husband Bill of LaPorte, Indiana and Julie
Reinke and husband Jim of Harrison, three sons: Donald Barber Jr. and
wife Brenda of Nashville, Tennessee, Phillip Barber and wife Kathy of
Roanoke, Virginia and Steven Barber and wife Jessie of Mt. Pleasant,
Michigan, three sisters in law: Stella Higgins, Doris Higgins and Donna
Higgins, twelve grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, plus numerous
nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, one son,
David Barber, one grandson, Matthew Reinke and five brothers: Walter,
Willard, Donald, Francis and Wayne Higgins and four sisters: Nada
(Higgins) Hecker-Krchmar, Onalee Higgins, Helen (Higgins) Johnson and
Florence (Higgins) Luce-Krchmar.
Memorial services will take place on Saturday, August 4, 2007 at
11:00 a.m. from the Harrison Community of Christ Church with the family
of Bettie Jean Barber officiating. Those wishing to express a memorial

JOSEPH ALAN CASTER
Joseph Caster, age
18, of Harrison, passed away on Monday, July 23, 2007. He was born on
December 15, 1988 in Mt. Clemens. Joseph is survived by his
grandparents, Thomas and Judyann Caster of Harrison, his mother, Barbara
Cleaver, a brother, Gregory, a sister, Jennifer and numerous other close
family members and friends.
A memorial service in celebration of the life of Joseph was held on
Saturday, July 28, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at Stocking Funeral Home with his
family and friends officiating. Those desiring may wish to make a

BENNIE LEE PEARSON

Bennie Lee Pearson,
age 51 of Harrison, passed away suddenly on Friday, July 27, 2007 at St.
Mary's of Michigan Standish Hospital. Bennie was born the son of Bennie
Leroy and Shirley (Reames) Pearson on October 6, 1955 in Mt. Pleasant.
He was united in marriage to Carol Wood on October 20, 1973 in Harrison.
Bennie had worked in and around Oil Fields for thirty-five years. He
began working for North American Drilling, and had worked for numerous
companies over the years, such as Beckman Well Service, Sharp Oil Field
Trucking, and Liquid Transport. Bennie had most recently been employed
by Pollister Drilling, where he had been a Rig Manager. Bennie enjoyed
riding his motorcycle, hunting, fishing, and held a private pilots
license. Bennie was remembered as a tinkerer, and a hard worker. He
belonged to the Harrison Moose Lodge.
Bennie is survived by his wife Carol; daughters Angel (Eddie)
Misener of Harrison, Beverly Pearson of McBain, and Sara Pearson of
Harrison; his brothers Ernest (Ann) and David both of Harrison, John of
Tennessee, and Dale of Harrison; his sisters Lavonna (Joe) Darrnel of
Tennessee, and Georgeann Hobby of Georgia; 6 grandchildren Brittnee
Misener, Brianna Pearson, Miranda Pearson, Bennie Pearson, Jarred
Hamrick, and Emilee Misener; his step father Ralph Currier;
mother-in-law Beverly Jean Wood; brother-in-laws Austin (Gwen) Wood,
Dennis (Nancy) Wood, Jerry (Donna) Wood, Elmer (Tammy) Wood, John
(Brenda) Wood, and Dan Hilts; numerous other family and friends. Bennie
was predeceased by his parents, a brother Ronald, sister Donna Stolberg,
brother-in-laws Billy and Bobby Wood, nieces Kristy Wood and Susan Wood;
and his father-in-law Charles Wood.
Services took place at the Farwell Chapel of Stephenson-Wyman Funeral
Home on Tuesday, July 31, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. Burial was in the Surrey
Twp. Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family of Bennie Pearson.

WALLACE E. BAYLISS

Wallace (Wally) E.
Bayliss, age 64, May 12, 1943 - July 29, 2007. Formerly of Rochester
and Harrison, MI. Son of Betty Bayliss and the late Wallace Sr. Grandson
of the late Anna Kingsley. Wallace is survived by his devoted Mother
Betty, Son's James (Virginia) and Joseph. Wallace was predeceased by his
daughter Laurie Bayliss. Also surviving are Grandchildren Justine
Bayliss, Dana Bayliss, Cheri Bayliss, and great grandson Pedro Rivera.
Wallace is also survived by his Brother Mike (Karey) Bayliss, Sisters
Joanne (Les) Stamper and Donna (David) Campbell. Predeceased by sister
Rexanne Edwards. Wally requested his remains be spread at his favorite
spot in the woods. He'll be missed by all.
