GEORGE ANTHONY HOCH
George "Indian George" Anthony Hoch,
72, of Harrison, passed away Thursday, March 27, 2008 at Mid Michigan
Medical Center-Clare. George was born July 24, 1935 in Detroit,
Michigan, the son of George Norval and Iantha C. (Gallmore) Hoch. Mr.
Hoch served his country in the United States Army during the Korean
Conflict. George was united in marriage to the former Joyce M. Waterbury
on February 28, 1970 in Whitmore Lake, Michigan. George had resided in
Harrison since 1994, coming from Hamburg, Michigan.
Mr. Hoch retired from Ford Motor Company after twenty-nine years of
employment. George was a member of the American Legion Post 404 of
Harrison and the Fraternal Order of Eagles-Aerie #3541. Mr. Hoch enjoyed
driving his antique automobile, woodworking and hunting.
Surviving is his loving wife, Joyce M. Hoch of Harrison, three
sons: Robert Hoch of Denver, Colorado, Jack Hoch of Owosso, Michigan and
George Hoch and wife Ann of Dansville, Michigan, two daughters: Dawn
Postin and husband Mark of St. Marys, Georgia and Candy Adams and
husband Kenneth of Fowlerville, Michigan, one sister, Patricia Watts of
Jackson, Michigan, nine grandchildren and one great-grandson.

CHARLES CASKEY
Charles Caskey, 79, of Harrison,
passed away Wednesday, April 2, 2008 at Oakwood Heritage Center, Taylor,
Michigan. Charles was born May 30, 1928 in West Liberty, Kentucky, the
son of Stonewall and Celina (Williams) Caskey. Mr. Caskey served his
country in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict.
Charles was united in marriage to the former Marjorie "Joan" Smith on
November 25, 1950 in West Liberty, Kentucky. Mrs. Caskey preceded
Charles in death on November 20, 2002.
Charles had resided in Harrison since 1984, coming from Trenton,
Michigan. Mr. Caskey hunting, fishing and was an avid gardener.
Surviving is his daughter, Brenda Kerley and husband Jim of
Harrison, one son, Tom Caskey and wife Brenda of Flat Rock, Michigan,
one brother, Mack Caskey of Clarksville, Tennessee, two grandchildren
and two great-grandchildren. Mr. Caskey also was preceded in death by
his parents, one daughter, Linda Kay Caskey on March 17, 2007, three
brothers: Glen, Carl and Forrest Caskey, one sister, Josephine Callaway
and one grandson, Paul Kerley.
Funeral services for Mr. Caskey were held Saturday, April 5, 2008
at 2:00 p.m. from Stocking Funeral Home, Harrison, with Elder Dale
Beavers officiating. Burial was in Hillcrest Cemetery, Harrison.

BERTHA E. MOGG
Bertha E. Mogg, age 83, of Harrison,
passed away Friday, April 11, 2008 in Midland. Bertha was born the
daughter of William H. and Tinsey E. (Vausman) Millisor on October 28,
1924. She was united in marriage to Preston Mogg, whom she was
predeceased by. Bertha had lived in Harrison since 1985; she was a
member of the First Baptist Church in Harrison.
Bertha is survived by her sons Paul (Debbie) of Taylor, Ray of
Harrison, Ralph of Fife Lake, and James of Flat Rock; her daughter
Lorraine Mogg of Harrison; her brother Don Millisor of Harrison; 9
grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Services will take place on Thursday, April 17, 2008 at 12 noon at
the First Baptist Church in Harrison with Pastor Tim Tanner officiating.
Friends may meet with Bertha's family prior to the services, beginning
at 9 a.m. on Thursday. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church
of Harrison. Arrangements were handled by the Stephenson-Wyman Funeral

SAMUEL FRANCIS HECKER

Samuel Francis Hecker, son of the
late Robert and Nada Pauline (Higgins) Hecker was born June 29, 1938 in
Harrison, Michigan and departed this life March 5, 2008 at his residence
in Ellsinore, Missouri. He had attained the age of sixty-nine years,
eight months and five days.
Mr. Hecker had resided in Ellsinore for the past twenty-two years
and was formerly of Lake Orion, Michigan. He was a retired toolmaker for
General Motors and was a United States Navy veteran. He was a member of
the Church of Christ in Dexter, and was also a member of the Oxford
Masonic Lodge #84 and VFW in Michigan and the Elks Lodge in Poplar
Bluff. He enjoyed reading and working on his computer.
On June 9, 1975 he was united in marriage to Phyllis Ann Hyten.
Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Hecker of Ellsinore; one son,
Joseph Robert Hecker, Sr. of Ellsinore; one daughter, Tracy D. Willis of
Aiken, SC; one step-son Randall Roetzel of Gray Ridge; one
step-daughter, Carla Dant of Lapeer, MI; two brothers, Robert Hecker of
Clare, MI and Albert Hecker of Reno, NV; one sister, Wilda Mosher of
Harrison, MI; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild and many other
relatives and friends who mourn his passing.
Family and friends are invited to join a memorial gathering at his
sister Wilda’s home on April 26, 2008 at 2pm. (701 Westlawn, Harrison).

DANIEL WILLIS
Clarence Daniel Willis, 53, of Harrison, passed away Saturday, March
29, 2008 at his home. Mr. Willis was born September 28, 1954 in
Williamson, West Virginia, the son of Clarence Lee and JoAnn (Blackburn)
Willis. Clarence served his country in the United States Navy during the
Vietnam War.
Clarence had resided in Harrison since 1991, coming from Pontiac,
Michigan. Clarence enjoyed puzzles, fishing, hunting, working on cars
and caring for his dogs.
Surviving is his one daughter, Krystle Willis of Harrison, two
sons: John Willis and Paul Willis both of Harrison, his mother, JoAnn
Willis of Walled Lake, Michigan, the mother of his children, Allison
Lynn Willis of Harrison, one step son, Russell Hicks of South Lyon,
Michigan, four brothers: Quinton Willis and wife Patty, Dave Willis,
Larry Willis and wife Hope and Duane Willis, two sisters: Tammy Bell and
husband Bob and Pam Dennis, one granddaughter, two step-grandchildren,
three nieces and six nephews. Mr. Willis was preceded in death by his
father.
Memorial services for Mr. Willis were held Friday, April 4, 2008 at
1:00 p.m. from Stocking Funeral Home, Harrison, with Pastor Tim Tanner

BISHOP Mabel
Bishop, age 93, of Grand Rapids, formerly of Harrison, MI, passed
away Monday, January 21, 2008. Her husband, Joseph, preceded her in
death. She is survived by her daughter, Judith A. (Bill Morgan)
Harrington of St. Mary’s, GA; son, Ronald (Maryann) Bishop of Lowell;
four grandchildren, Chuck (Bernice) Parker, James (Rhonda) Parker, Troy
Bishop, Lisa (Shawn) Carlson; and ten great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 11:30am, at the Pleasant Plains
Cemetery in Harrison, MI, Friday, April 18th, 2008 with Rev. Tim Tanner,
