Joan Marie Abrey,
age 77, of Ashley, Michigan died Thursday, March 25, 2010 at Sparrow
Hospital, Lansing, MI.
Funeral Services were held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Elsie
Chapel Elsie, MI on Monday, March 29, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. Pastor Kathy
Leydorf officiated. Burial will follow at Eureka Cemetery Eureka, MI.
Visitation was held on Saturday, March 27, 2010 from 6-8 P.M. and on
Sunday, March 28, 2010 from 2-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes Elsie
Chapel.
Joan was born in Rochester, New York on September 16, 1932, the
daughter of Gordon and Lucille Evelyn (Moulton) Patterson. She was
married to Jerry Saxton in 1948 then on November 24, 1967 she married
Larry Abrey. Joan retired from Motor Products in Owosso in 1992. She
enjoyed camping at the lake, reading and family gatherings. She had
resided most of her life in the Ashley and Bannister areas.
Survivors include her husband Larry Abrey of Ashley, MI, 2
daughters; Rosemary and Michael Leydorf of Beaverton, MI, Carol and Joe
Monahan of Harrison, MI, 3 sons; Jim and Barb Saxton of Alice, TX, Mark
and Martha Saxton of Perrinton, MI, Max and Connie Saxton of Harrison,
MI, 13 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 2 sisters; Mary Lou
and Stanley Plesko of Ashley, MI, and Jean and Phil West of Elsie, MI.
She was predeceased by her parents.

Powers, Will J.,
age 94, of Rochester Hills, formerly of Royal Oak and Harrison, MI, died
March 19, 2010.
Former owner of Willis Tool in Warren, MI and Powers Market in
Hazel Park, MI. Beloved husband of Kathleen "Kaye" (Thom). Loving father
of Jon (Hazel) Powers, Linda Powers and Kristin (Darryl) Pfau. Proud
grandfather of Vince (Carol), Greg and Allie Powers, Ryan and Jennifer
Pfau, and the beloved late Jane Marie Powers. Great grandfather of
Preston Powers. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

EDWARD G. BOND, SR.
January 31, 1924 - March 30, 2010
Edward G. Bond, Sr., 86, of Portland,
Michigan, passed away March 30, 2010 in Little Rock. Born January 31,
1924 in Leota, Michigan to Fredrick D. and Viola Peck Bond, he was a
U.S. Army veteran of World War II and owner of Ed's Garage since 1959.
Ed was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and
an avid hunter and fisherman.
He is survived by seven children, Susie Smith (Dean) and Edward
Bond, Jr. (Barbara), both of Portland; Mary Vernon (Norman) of Ionia,
Michigan, Diane Cudney (Greg) of Grand Ledge, Michigan, Karen Cudney
(Kent) of Moorehead City, North Carolina, Cheryl Dillahunty (David) of
Little Rock, Arkansas and Raymond Bond (Mary Jo) of Falmouth, Michigan.
He is also survived by a multitude of grandchildren, great-grandchildren
and great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Ed was
preceded in death by his parents, wife, Dorothy Bond and daughter, Gail
Bond.
A Memorial Service was held at 11 am Monday, April 12, 2010 at the
Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Homes, Portland, MI. Interment took place at

EDGAR REESE MILLIKEN
February 8, 1946 - March 24, 2010
Edgar Reese Milliken, 64 of Harrison,
passed away Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at Covenant Health Care-Cooper
Campus, Saginaw, Michigan. Mr. Milliken was born February 8, 1946 in
Nashville, Tennessee, the son of William Edgar and Audrey (England)
Marentette. Edgar served his country in the United States Navy. Edgar
was united in marriage to Ms. Shirley K. Miller on February 12, 1965 in
Madison Heights, Michigan.
Mr. Milliken had resided in Harrison since 1999, coming from
Lapeer, Michigan. Edgar retired from Ford Motor Company after thirty
years of service. Edgar was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge
#2235 of Harrison. Mr. Milliken enjoyed playing cards, painting,
hunting, fishing, golfing, playing baseball and shooting his
muzzleloader. Edgar had a great love for animals, especially small
animals.
Surviving is Edgar’s loving wife of forty-five years, Shirley K.
Milliken of Harrison, three daughters: Dawn Milliken of Lapeer, Rainy
Coulter and husband Kelly of Lapeer and Renee Birkenhauer and husband
Dave also of Lapeer, two sons: Edgar Milliken of Grand Blanc, Michigan
and Daniel Milliken and wife Alisha of Attica, Michigan, his mother,
Mrs. Audrey Marentette of Harrison, one brother, Wayne Milliken and wife
Ann of Harrison, one sister-in-law, Debbie Milliken of Waterford,
Michigan, ten grandchildren: Amara, Ashley, Kristina, Victoria, Nicole,
Mickey, Abby, Kaya, Logan and Riley, one great-granddaughter, Arianna,
plus many nieces, nephews and friends. Mr. Milliken was preceded in
death by his father and one brother, Roger Milliken.
Funeral services for Mr. Milliken were held Saturday, March 27,
2010 at 11:00 a.m. from Stocking Funeral Home, Harrison, with Pastor
Dennis Feuerstein officiating. Visitation took place Friday, March 26,
2010 from 6:00-9:00p.m. at Stocking Funeral Home, Harrison. Memorial

September 27, 1918 - March 25, 2010
Letha M. McKeever, 91 years of age,
passed away Thursday, March 25, 2010 at Gladwin Pines Nursing Home of
Gladwin, Michigan. Letha was born September 27, 1918 in Defiance County,
Ohio, the daughter of Simon and Lillian (Ried) Myers.
Letha was united in marriage to Mr. Herbert L. McKeever on April
22, 1950 in Angola, Indiana. Mr. McKeever preceded Letha in death on
January 9, 2003. Mrs. McKeever had resided in Harrison since 1977,
coming from Oakland County, Michigan. Letha was a member of Trinity
Christian Life Center Church of Harrison.
Surviving are one son, Doug McKeever of Harrison, one daughter,
Susan Oberle of Lapeer, one sister, Vivian Yentz of Monroe, Michigan,
eight grandchildren, four great grandchildren, plus many nieces, nephews
and several great friends and church family. Letha also was preceded in
death by her parents, her son-in-law, Mr. Lauren Oberle and two
brothers, Donald and Melvin Myers.
A Celebration of Life Service for Mrs. McKeever was held Sunday,
March 28, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. from Trinity Christian Life Center Church,
Harrison with Pastor Dennis Feuerstein officiating. Burial is in
Pleasant Plains Cemetery, Harrison. Memorial contributions in memory of

Michelle Lynn Grubaugh, 30 of
Harrison, passed away Sunday, April 4, 2010 at her home. Michelle was
born May 10, 1979 in Ypsilanti, Michigan, the daughter of Mark and Debra
(Manier) Grubaugh. Michelle had resided in Harrison since 1989, moving
from Ypsilanti.
Surviving are her children, one daughter, Abby M. Ketner of
Harrison, three sons: Marc A. Shaw-Grubaugh of Harrison, Dyllon E. Shaw-Grubaugh
of Harrison and Ethan A. Ketner also of Harrison, her parents, Mark and
Debbie Grubaugh of Harrison, two sisters: Lisa M. Grubaugh and Angel L.
Grubaugh both of Harrison, her brother, Jessie A. Grubaugh of Harrison,
her companion, William Ketner of Harrison, several nieces, nephews and
friends.
