LAMONT A. WYNNE

                Lamont A. Wynne age 87 of Harrison, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at MyMichigan Medical Center-Midland. Lamont was born February 20, 1937, in Saginaw, Michigan the son of Pearl Ambrose Wynne and Blanche (Walker) Wynne. Lamont had resided in Harrison since 1948, moving from Saginaw. Lamont attended Harrison Community Schools and played basketball during his high school attendance, graduating in 1955. Soon after graduation, Lamont enlisted in the United States Navy and honorably served his country. Lamont was united in marriage to Ms. Carol M. Ross on December 10, 1960, in Harrison.

                Mr. Wynne was a self-employed building contractor for several years, co-owner and operator of the Surrey House Restaurant of Harrison for ten years and Clare County Building Inspector for many years. Lamont enjoyed deer hunting, working in his yard, home improvement projects, solving crossword puzzles, watching television and visiting with friends on $1.00 beer night. Lamont served his community as a Councilman with Harrison City Council for many years.

                Surviving Lamont is his wife of sixty-three years, Mrs. Carol M. Wynne of Harrison, three children; Kim Wynne and husband Tim Bailey of Harrison, Kevin Wynne and wife Anne of Elkhart, Indiana and Danon Wynne of Harrison, six loving grandchildren; Andrew Wynne and wife MaKenzie,  Sam Wynne and wife Sheri, Dylan Wynne and wife Caitlin, Kendall Wynne, Ryan Bailey and wife Eliana and Tori Bailey, four great-grandchildren; Charlotte Wynne, Lamont Wynne, Nick Bailey and Tywla Bailey, many nieces, nephews, extended family and close friends. Lamont was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and two brothers.

                Celebration of Life services honoring Mr. Wynne will be held Saturday, May 11, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. from American Legion Post 404, 1267 M-61, Harrison. A time of gathering and sharing will take place on Saturday, May 11, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the American Legion Post 404. Military honors will be presented under the auspices of the United States Department of the Navy and American Legion Post 404 Military Honors Team.
