Clare County Community Foundation to take part in regional 24-hour giving day event

Posted

Clare, MI - On May 7, the Clare County Community Foundation asks you to "give where you live" by supporting their Give Local campaign. Give Local is a 24-hour giving day where community members can support the long-term sustainability of local nonprofits.

"Your Clare County Community Foundation provides a way for community members to help transform our community with donations as little as five dollars," said Clare County Community Foundation Board Chair, Frank Newman. "Donations to the Clare County Community Foundation's Give Local campaign go directly to the Foundation's Community Investment Fund. The Community Investment Fund helps make our grantmaking possible. In 2023, our grant recipients included the MyMichigan Health Foundation, the City of Clare, Clare Public Schools, Mid-Michigan Industries Inc., Farwell Area Historical Museum, Clare County Arts Council, and Junior Achievement of North Central MI.”

Clare County Community Foundation's Give Local campaign is part of Give Local Midland. Give Local Midland is a 24-hour giving event hosted by the Midland Area Community Foundation. It has been hosted annually for over ten years; this is the first year the Clare County Community Foundation has participated.

"Seeing the success of Give Local for nonprofits in our region has inspired us to join in on the fun," said Newman. We’re excited to not only participate in the giving day but also celebrate with one of our 2023 grantees, the Clare County Arts Council, during the 2024 Destination Clare Art Sculpture Walk.”

On May 7 at Tobacco Ranch at 5 PM, donors and supporters are asked to join the Clare County Community Foundation and the Clare County Arts Council for the 2024 Destination Clare Art Sculpture Walk and Give Local Celebration. There will be a cash bar and hors d’oeuvres. This joint reception will allow community members to celebrate local artists in the spirit of philanthropy.

To support the Clare County Community Foundation during Give Local, go to ClareCCF.org at any point on May 7th to be redirected to the fundraiser. Utilize the simple-to-use search features to select the Foundation and mark your support. Donations can be as small as $5.
